Which would be the better option? A Cooler Master MasterWatt 650W 80+ Bronze Semi-Modular PSU or a Corsair CX650M 80+ Bronze Semi-Modular PSU? The Cooler Master PSU is $15 cheaper but I know Corsair is one of the best brands for power supplies. So what would be better price-to-performance?

Either would be fine, though if you need 650W you should probably be looking at better quality units.

What system are you powering?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X (Want to OC to 4.2/4.3 ghz at 1.41/1.43v)

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SC GAMING ACX 2.0 (Want to OC from 1165-1317 (Base-Boost) to 1365-1517)

MOBO: ASUS PRIME B450M-A/CSM

CPU Cooler: ARCTIC FREEZER 33 Esports Edition (210W TDP)

RAM: Team T-Force Vulcan 16GB (2x8) DDR4 3000Mhz (Want to OC to 3200)

SSD: ADATA SU800 1TB 3D NAND

HDD: Not fully decided. SATA III, 7200 RPM

Case: DIYPC-F2-O mATX Mini Tower

Case Fans: 4 Orange LED 3-pin fans

Will use <300W. Go with the 550W of either the MasterWatt or CX/CXM.

So I'm planning to get a Corsair CX550M 80+Bronze 550W Semi-Modular PSU for my first build (OC'ed Ryzen 5 2600X and OC'ed EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SC GAMING ACX 2.0). I was wondering because 550W is just over the wattage for this certain build. How long will the Power Supply last? I would expect it to have good life expectancy because it is from a brand like Corsair but I'm not exactly sure. I plan to keep this build for a couple of years, probably 3.

Yes, most of them overestimate by a bit. The CX550M is good enough for the next few years for single GPU uses although I'm not sure how it will fare in SLI. But anyway for reference, EVGA's GTX 1080 SC draws about 450 watts, so really not many people need 650W power supplies.

That's perfect.

 

I run a CX550M with an overclocked Ryzen 5 1600 and an overclocked GTX 780, haven't had any problems with it so far.

No, it does not. You're not even close. It draws less than half that.
