GPU using 50 percent of its power wtf

Hey guys I play one game.  Quake Champions @ 1080p all settings at ultra and all nvpanel settings set to On ,, and to highest ammount.  The FPS never drops below 60fps.... GPU usage shows 40 to 60 percent.  Whats up with that,, is it not using its full power because I have vsync on ?  sighs

Yes. It just doesn't need more to drive 60fps.

 

 

Vsync acts kinda like the eco mode in you car with speedlimit. You accelerate really quickly to 60mph with your supercharged V8 but once you are there it turns of 4 of your cylinders and just chills to keep the 60mph.

try turning off Vsync (but if you have tearing the leave it on)

Yeah, vsync limits the fps.

Why would the GPU use all of its power if you're limiting the fps...

I run overwatch with my gpu at basically 100% but I also hit the engine frame cap. I do have overly high settings enabled because why not.
