I was browsing today on a certain tech forum (not this one thankfully) and came across a large number of threads with people that really shouldn't be messing with computers (someone asking about the best GPU to get for his Celeron 1.9Ghz system and wanting to play BF4 maxed out @ 60FPS etc).

Has anyone seen any funny questions concerning PC building/components that you just have to facepalm at? Care to share them?

No such thing as a stupid question, every person that asks that kind of question just doesn't know what's going on, everyone was there at one point in their life, everyone learnt off someone being helpful. I try to be as helpful as I can and share my knowledge with other people, and maybe in the future, they'd share their knowledge with me in that field, or another field in which I don't feel confident in.

 

Mind you, not a tech forum, but try working retail for a few years, you get asked some of the daftest questions, and get confronted a lot.

I added a 1 tb hdd but see no performance increase!!!

It can also be done with a 2 button mouse, a keyboard mouse combo and I have done it with one of Apple's single button mice (not sure which one, probably one of the last generations).

It's also a real question for those new to a mac.

There's a lot of jerks on this forum - seriously.

 

Half of these questions are legitimate to people that are not tech-savvy. So, you have some years or months of experience more than a person - that obviously makes all of their questions dumb? Right? No.

 

You probably don't fully understand how to file taxes. Does that make you dumb? No.

 

Get over it. Half of this is probably made up or rehashed from old "tech support gore" threads...
