Depending on where the center is that it is coming from, and the path they plan to take, it could be delayed due to a few things like the weather.  There are storms in the middle of the US for example.  If you bought from Amazon a few centers were damaged causing delays in shipping.

I only shop Newegg (I do not support Amazon any chance I get), and everything I ordered this Black Friday was from Newegg - everything has arrived sans this SSD.

Considering it shipped from Hebron Kentucky and I live in the middle of Missouri and our states touch "tips" - I blame DHL, again.

Yep i bought from newegg too. Seems like they just pay employees to do whatever they want. Took a whole day to sort my package, funnier part is that the tracking said 2 different sorting locations. What a joke. I also read a story about some guys business' payrole checks falling out the back of one of their trucks and flinging them all over the highway.

My only issue with Newegg (beyond a couple major issues that was eventually sorted in a favor leaning towards me) is that they choose DHL.  I understand I get "free shipping" (its not free its built in the price) and that they choose the cheapest method possible...but they have done this now both black Fridays (RAM last year, SSD this year)...the small item gets DHL and everything else gets packaged in 1-3 boxes and shipped via Fed Ex lol

I would tell you exactly how I feel about DHL but Mama told me not to use those words (not to mention the mods here would be agast ? ).

I had so much trouble with DHL temporarily losing and misrouting packages and refusing to respond to my inquiries, Newegg agreed to not use them for packages sent to me when I choose free shipping (which is always since I'm only a State away from one of their warehouses) when I asked them to not use them. And they haven't used them in the past year or so, just as they promised. I won't use a vendor that insists on using DHL.

I haven't actually got it yet! lol. As to sizing we will see, if I remember correctly they tended to run a tad larger than advertised, which is fine.

There is a wide variance sometimes, but the thing I dislike about Columbia, O'Neil and others is that they do not go above 2XL.

not even the state? You're really tight aye? not like it matters anyways, most of your information is public online anyways. I'm not trying to be a creep, just was wondering if you were experiencing problems too in the same general area. Seems like a snow problem most likely, but i finally got the tracking to work on their actual website. My package was expedited, which says 2-5 days, but it will supposedly arrive in 7. Not sure how that works. (7 plus the already 3 i waited which i'm not counting)

Hell I should've payed for better shipping, OH WAIT, I did. Like i said above it's listed as expedited, which is 2-5 business days, and the tracking is telling me 7. I sent them an email tonight, which I probably won't hear from them until after my package is already here, the irony.

edit: I wonder if they'll shut off my tracking like they did for the 5 other people i read about that happening to after complaining to support.

in my mind i thought you meant he just put it on your doorstep or porch, are you saying this dude was knocking/ringing your doorbell that late? That's crazy, I wouldn't mind but from a business perspective wtf are they thinking. Kudos to that guy though, he's prolly getting that overtime.

I'm not here to speak nicely of DHL as I'm not a fan of them but I am here to speak up about truck drivers and delivery schedules.

There are a few reasons why a package can be delayed during shipping. You all have hit a bunch of them from traffic to weather as well as warehouse issues. But a major one is the Hours of Service rules.

The House of Service rules or HOS for short, screws with us drivers especially with the electronic log books. We are allowed to work 14 hours a day but can only drive 11 hours max. What that means is when we get into the truck and go on duty, our 14 hour clock starts. If we get held up at the shipper for 2 hours we just lost 2 hours of our day. Not to bad so far. Now we get stuck on a traffic jam that delays us by another hour. Then weather hits us and slows us down again. Before you know it we only drove for 6 hours.  And we have to shit down and take a mandatory 10 hour break.

I deal with this daily. Just yesterday I spent 6 hours trying to pick up a load from JC Penney in Atlanta to take up to Columbus OH. I had to reschedule the delivery time to this afternoon instead of having it delivered last night. All due to the shipping warehouse and bad traffic slowing me down. I did all I could so it's out of my hands. But it cost me time and money that cut into my profits for that load.

I understand where you're coming from, and I respect drivers and the work they do. But when someone pays for 2-5 day shipping, we should receive the product we payed extra for. Not only was the package delayed 3 days, which I let slide, but now they added an additional 2 days, literally no different from standard shipping, but instead here I get fucked and pay them for it!

I am going to go as far to say it would be mostly impossible to find who I am from this identity. This started out as an identity I used for investigations, but later became what I use on forums like this. So you might find more information on this persona, but you won't find information on the person underneath. So while my education, certs, etc are all accurate without other information you wouldn't get far in tracking me.

I'm fully aware that "stuff happens" which can cause a shipment to be late, damaged, etc. but when it happens frequently and the carrier never responds to inquiries, that is inexcusable! DHL was consistantly running late, having shipments that disappear from tracking for days at a time-- (one time, a shipment from the Los Angeles area to the Phoenix area disappeared from tracking and didn't show up until a couple of days later in Denver; that one was the final straw for me and Newegg), and never did they ever respond to my inquiries.

how'd you go about making sure newegg doesn't use DHL anymore? and does it cost you extra? I don't mind paying 15-20 just for my package to not be handled by them, infact, i'd gladly do that instead of paying what i did for expedited (ironic as it is), i'm not sure about a few days ago, but yesterday and today there's no snow on the route from there to here, and they should easily be able to make the drive in at least two days (because google maps exists, and shows traffic data and the quickest routes.)

When Newegg's customer service and I were going through the nightmare of the package that disappeared and eventually showed up in Denver, I simply asked Newegg nicely if they would not use DHL again to sship packages to me. They agreed to do it and it hasn't cost me any extra. I've been a frequent, often high dollar, customer of Newegg for many years and I may have hinted I wouldn't use them anymore if they continued to use DHL (I really don't remember, it's been a couple years or so ago) so that may have been a factor in their willingness to accomodate me. All they use now when shipping to me now is Ontrac and Fedex.

I assume they add a note onto your account or something of the likes that is seen by warehouse workers. I live in florida so the only shipping companies i've ever seen are usps, ups, fedex. First time with an unknown shipper and it's horrible. For the most part I believe here where I live there's no fedex nearby, so I only see them when driving. If anything I'd say i've had it lucky until this point. Thanks for the information, I'll most likely contact newegg support after my package has arrived.

There are other reasons than just you tracking me down. I am in Cyber Security so there are many reasons that I don't use my actual information some of them legal. There are also reasons to not make it easier to narrow down where I might work as I have in the past discussed somethings in more detail than I could/would on an account that identifies me.

Anyways there isn't a reason to keep going down this road anyways. My package gets here tomorrow and hopefully the jacket fits lol.

I'm personally not a fan of DHL. They've always been relatively slow for me, but I know that each carrier and their overall experience is only really representative of their local distribution location, and isnt necessarily indicative of the company overall.

For Example, I love UPS, they've got a store close to me, their tracker works well (to the point where I have an account where I get updates and/or notifications if they are sending me a package without me having to apply a tracking code) and I've been able to change locations mid shipment. I've only had 1 hiccup with them trying to ship Dry ice where they held the package for five days, whereupon the ice melted and the goods spoiled, but they did reimburse me the $30 in ice cream.

Meanwhile, my friend half an hour away (who gets her packages from a different shipping hub) hates UPS with a passion. She finds her packages either damaged, or they dont listen to her "leave package at ..." locations and they get stolen, has problem with customer service when she tries calling them, etc. She much prefers Fedex, which I personally have a neutral opinion on.

Id like to amend my opinion of FedEx.

I ordered a PS4 pro off amazon a couple weeks ago (i chose the slowest shipping even though i have prime because i know its the holidays and i ordered in plenty of time).

Monday i get a text from FedEX saying "hey we need your Sig. on Tuesday for this".

Tuesday, they didnt show up and the tracking number i was given from amazon didnt even register on their site.

Wednesday i get a text from amazon saying "your shit will be here today".  So i called out of work to wait and sign for the package...... no show.... and their tracking site says that the truck couldnt deliver due to "weather, or natural disaster"  The shipping center is 30 mins from my house, and it was cold and windy and sunny Wednesday.  So WTF.

Today they show up, no text or announcement at all, and need my signature.  Now because i didnt get notified i wasnt home (because i have a job i need to work to make money).  So they left.  No notice or note that says "hey we missed you".

I go on their site and its $5.25 to have them hold the package for me to pick up, or have them deliver to an alternate address, or pick a different time (weekdays only).

I have no more Paid time off to use this year, so now im fucked.  Super....

Guess i get to find out what happens if they make their attempts and you dont sign....
