We both like FPS games, but honestly anything where you can work together really well is good.

Battleblock Theater is some good fun in co op mode (controllers highly suggested).

"We're all in this together, might as well be friends" Tom, Toonami.

Borderlands, Left 4 Dead, WH: Vermintide are all good FPS co-op games

PUBG is fun with a friend as well

Ark is fun if you can get it for under the huge pricetag

Diablo/Torchlight are good dungeon crawlers

I have a bunch more. If you want em, shout

Magicka 2 is great, especially if you want to laugh because you kill yourselves all the time?

Look at Dying Light. The story can be fully played together from start to finish and the game is quite a bit of fun in co-op.

The games in green are the games I have sunk the most hours into.

The games in orange are the games I wish I would play more.

The games in red I have yet to play, but I know they're good because I watch people play them.

The games in white I have played but I just haven't played them very much. FH3 I just played the demo for a good 6 hours.

You owe it to both you and your friend to at least consider playing 95% of these games.

Borderlands, halo combat evolved, rainbow six siege with 3 randoms  that you make friends with, world of Warcraft (even private servers), Minecraft (try an adventure map), 7 days to die,

... actually this is harder than I thought. I can’t think of any fun games that provide adventure...

resident evil 5?

Magicka + DLC. Get boring pretty fast if you goofing around too much though. Try focus on the "mission/story".
