is this possible?

Ashley MLP Fangirl

so i want to try something kinda insane.

i found a good deal on an old server, and with the hardware i already have i could make a system with these specs:

2x Xeon X5650

48GB RAM

dual gpu's, which exactly i haven't decided yet.

so i want to do something crazy. i want to run Windows 10 and Linux using a triple monitopr setup, but not the normal way.

i want to be able to switch say my center display to Windows and keep the other 2 on linux on the fly, without rebooting the machine. i also want my keyboard and mouse to switch over.

is that possible?

With a hypervisor like VirtualBox, yes. It also might be possible with KVM in a distro like Ubuntu but that's a question better asked on an actual Linux forum.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.

Is this gonna use synergy like in all the old LTT ads? Sounds like the easiest way to go about it.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

maybe, but that would mean that i'd have to reconfigure it everytime i want to switch OS's...

and i'd have to have the Windows install booted all the time.

on top of that i don't know how well synergy handles gaming...
