That'll take you into the 4.5ish range. Any higher and you'll either want a beefier cooler or replace the Intel mayo below the IHS with liquid metal.

it can, not sure if it would be able to handle it all the way up to 5Ghz. I've seen people claim 4.8Ghz stable and under 75c anything above that people are saying gets too hot. also depends on your silicon lottery luck

It's common to get 5.0GHz on a be quiet! Dark Rock Pro. I would look on OC3D for a few of the threads showing what voltage they ran.

I have a 4.7 GHz/1.25v all-core turbo on mine with a Hyper 212 Evo. Games at 50-60 C and sits around 80-90 in synthetics.

The Cryorig H7 is nearly identical in terms of cooling performance. Ever so very slightly better from what I hear though.

Current Build:

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D

GPU: RTX 3080 Ti FE

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z CL16 3200 MHz

Mobo: Asus Tuf X570 Plus Wifi

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X53

PSU: EVGA G6 Supernova 850

Case: NZXT S340 Elite

Current Laptop:

Model: Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900HS

GPU: RTX 3060

RAM: 16GB @3200 MHz

Old PC:

CPU: Intel i7 8700K @4.9 GHz/1.315v

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z CL16 3200 MHz

Mobo: Asus Prime Z370-A

Note the "ish" in "4.5ish". I'm not saying 4.5Ghz is the max, I'm saying around that area is what to expect. I own an H7, in fact I have two and will reuse one when I downsize my rig.

I honestly wonder why you are paying so much for CPU which you then plan to cool something meant for budget builds. For getting everything you need out of CPU, you need cooler which is up to CPUs level. Midrange to top end air or some AIO even.

Probably for RGB aesthetics.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/
