CPU PRICE WARS HAVE BEGUN

Intel has SLASHED CPU  (Correction Retailers) slash on x99 cpu's Because of the Ryzen price releases

Example: Amazon has a intel 6 core 40 lane CPU  that was $628.00 now $358.99.

Is it a good time to get a bump in your x99 system or wait?

$360 isn't an amazing price TBH. You can get a 1700, which has 2 more cores and 4 more threads, for $270 $300

Above is right, Intel didn't touch their prices; retailers did.

And if this is an X99 6 core; what's the point? Ryzen will be just as good; if not better. x99 level IPC and RYzen level IPC is pretty much the same. Screw paying £360 for a 6 core that's pretty much just a 1600, if it was Covfefe lake i'd take it.

While I do agree $360 ain't great, the 6850K has 40 lanes.

Which are the ones that matter - unless any of you is buying directly from Intel or AMD.

yes but lets be real here. the reason the price was lowered is likely because nobody wanted to buy the i7 6850k when the i7 6800k was much less expensive and is basically the same cpu with less lanes.

i'd find !t amazing that intel would still be selling x99 processors, that's all old retailer stock dropping in price ;)
