So whenever i go on someone else computer i notice that they have a crap ton of stuff in their downloads but my downloads folder is empty because whenever i download something i usually install it if its an exe file or if its a video or pic or something like that i move it to another folder and delete it. So my recyling bin and downloads are always empty. I got used to do doing this as a habit and im just wondering if anyone else also has that habit.

I just download to my desktop, so it's empty all the time

recycling bin is always empty because it tilts me else. I usually have stuff in my download folder and I clean it once a week or so

I would recommend not going into people's download folder unless you've been asked to clear/fix their machine. That's how you find stuff you probably don't want to see

I don't clear it out too often, unless I when I go to grab something/install something I just downloaded, and it's really packed and not sorted by date. I don't use icons on my desktop so that isn't much of a solution.

On some of my older hard drives, I may still have things in download folders (or the equivalent for older OS's copied from even older media) that's anywhere from 10 to 25 years old, possibly older. :o 

Some may also be on 5¼" floppies, but I haven't yet come across a reasonably-priced (like 3.5" USB floppy drives) 5.25" drive that hooks up via USB or SATA, nor a 5.25" controller that slots in via PCI Express. :/

 

Same goes for the recycle bin from older Windows installs.  (I'd have to mount them in, say, Linux, to get stuff, otherwise Windows would either freak out with hardware it didn't know about, or empty the recycle bin.)

How do you pull up the image resize dialog on mobile?  Tapping just selects it, and long-pressing just also pulls up the "cut | copy | paste | select all" context menu. :/  (I wanted to resize Kappa to 32, 48 or 64 pixels, whichever is standard for Twitch chat with winfows/browser scaling at 100%.

I have a quite large downloads folder, clocking at a whopping 120GB last time I checked. I just organize everything in the downloads folder and whenever I need anything I just type it in the search bar.

On my main PC my downloads folder is empty, because when downloading from a browser I just download to the desktop and when downloading a torrent I download to a folder on D: which is either Install, Movies or Install in E:. My E drive is for VMs and Video editing.

My downloads folder is on a secondary drive so I don't fill up my SSD. Usually clean it up every couple weeks
