Damn. Half the video I was excited thinking it was 1440p. I'd never spend that much money on a 1080p monitor at that size...even with all those features. Plus it looks like it has no VESA option? Stuck with the shitty stand? No thanks.

Reviewing a 1080P monitor in 2017 - something tells me LG is still milking the crowd. Considering that LG manufactures their own panels they could do whatever current technology allows them to, but they are holding back. Shame because I would love to see a 3840x1600 G-sync panel at 120Hz - the days of needing four monster GPU's to push a single 4K screen are long gone.

I can see the same shit with a 1440p display... just saying its scaling or stretching

You'll have to move the mouse from a to b and won't make you game better

I think he meant it's a benefit of ultra-wide...

Damn it's unfair. With 16:9 when you point at short you can't see shit from long.

Why the fuck would you pay 600USD for such an advantage?

Depends. Depends. the inches of the monitor

970 DOLLARS? no thanks.

Pro players didn't get better bcs of their monitor do they..

Is there a Freesync version of this monitor? Or similar monitor featuring the same panel.

Linus, for heavens sake man. Don't perpetuate the myth that Ultrawide is an advantage. There is no proof that there is and perpetuating this myth is giving validation to companies being anti consumer, and hindering tech progress by restricting ultrawides.

To be fair, I bought 27'' 1080p for my mom. It has low PPI = "big letters", exactly what she wants. But that one is Dell IPS that costs 200 dollars less ($189). Freesync there is just a bonus.

Yeah, I bought a 27" 1080p monitor years ago. Used it for about 15 minutes, it gave me a headache and I gave it to my dad. He loves it, but he's also approaching 65.
