No, I personally would never buy a RX 580 unless it was brand new after this craze is over... They are generally abused and ran at high fan speeds and clocks for 24/7.

What about a 1060? When the craze is over do you think cards such as the 500s, 1060s and 1070s will be back to stock? Then I would definitely go for a brand new one

I personally wouldn't. GPU board partners already don't like miners for abusing the RMA system.

If it's still covered by warranty and it's significantly cheaper than the rest, go for it. If it's the same price as the others, do a bit more gpu hunting.

No, unless it's significantly cheaper

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Either you'll get an abused card or someone trying to pass off a refurbished RMA'd card as new. Either way is sketchy.

If a miner succeeds in RMA they will get a brand new or refurb card directly from the manufacturer, likely sealed in box.  This can then be sold as unused, sealed box for closer to msrp.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

What's wrong with buying a used gpu from a miner? I know a guy who knows a gal who mines, RMAs her card and then sells it to a gamer for about half the cost of a new card. Like seriously she gets her RMA back and doesn't open it just flat out sells it.  What's wrong with repurposing cards back to the gamer community?

I would. The thing is just that proper mining you have a very heavy undervolt and the fans aren't working hard. Some idiots think that pushing max voltage and clocks and thus also high fan speeds is going to increase profits.

That's an F in the profile pic
