Ryzen USB ports Windows 7 Help.

I have been trying to fix this all day. My computer is not detecting that my keyboard and my mouse are plugged in. I read that this is normal I have tried some fixes but most I cannot complete. At my home I have a laptop that runs windows 10 and a mac.

PC Specs: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RsHr8K

I ordered a ps2 mouse today and it should arrive Friday. With this I'm hoping I can then click stuff and do basic stuff on my computer and I hope it can open up more fixes. I need all the help I can get!

AMD doesn't support W7 with Ryzen, not even sure they have W7 drivers for the chipsets

This.

I ran into the same problem on, oddly enough, the same motherboard and CPU

Create a bootable USB drive using a legitimate WIndows 7 ISO using MSI Smart Tool (it cooks USB drivers into the installer).

Or, y'kno, just install Windows 10

I don't have enough space on any of my USB's to support a bootable drive. Also I no longer have the instal disk for windows 7. It is activated though.

There are Windows 7 drivers for Ryzen, see this article : http://www.anandtech.com/show/11182/how-to-get-ryzen-working-on-windows-7-x64

If you can't get them to work, you should still be able to boot from usb2.0 headers on motherboard (just install a usb bracket)

would I just install and run that program? I will try this once i get my ps2 mouse.

It does but i can't make since of how o use it: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows+10+-+64

AMD has drivers for W7, but MS themselves doesnt support running windows on ryzen so wether or not AMD wants to support it or not, it's not exactly a good idea.

you should realise it's not 2007 anymore, and install windows 10.

How? I don't have enough room on any usb's or disks for windows 10 and I don't want to have to re buy a activation code.

  • 1 year later...

I don't see any reason why Windows 7 shouldn't be still used. It is still a robust OS.

Once you have the OS installed, I personally used an old adapter I had from an old MS mouse (PS2 to USB) and to type my key I used the On Screen Keyboard option available during setup.

Next issue you will have is the "Not Supported CPU" problem when using Windows Update. A fix is here. https://github.com/zeffy/wufuc

I have used this yesterday and ESET AV has no issies with it, so far so good :D updates are flooding in!
