Every smartphone's processors overclockable?

4klips

Is every smartphone processor overclockable?

As the "k" series in Intel and the "X" series of AMD is only unlocked and can be overclocked.

Is this same applies for snapdragon, or apple or mediatek or any other CPUs. Or every phone cpus are overclockable?

Just curious about it.

Just root and install SetCPU from the Android app store.

I believe the vast majority of phones can be overclocked this way.

Other apps that do the same thing are also available (not that I have used any)

How to root your phone? You'll have to search for instructions specific to your phone model.

How far can you overclock your phone? I have no idea.

Have I every used SetCPU or overclocked my phone? No.

it depends on kernel support.

seeing smartphones already set your pants on fire when they're on full load and absolutely demolish battery life, i dont even think you'd want to.

Undervolting would be sweet though.

All AMD CPUs are overclockable, not just the "X".

Not sure if you can OC CPU on all phones, I doubt it.

I think it's possible for some especially older phones but pointless.

Most problems of sluggishness of smartphones is because of bloated software sitting on top of the operating system. Just look at Samsung and its proprietary TouchWiz crapware which severely crippled the phone despite Android Jelly Bean's triple buffering in Project Butter.

An old Tegra 2 I bumped from 1.0 GHz up to 1.5 GHz. Definitely helped in usability, though battery life took a nosedive.
