Hi, I am upgrading to a GTX1070 Strix and right now I am usin the iGPU on the 6700k

I am wondering how the upgrading process works

Please give all the info. as I am new to PC building

P.S. Include helpful tips!

Also, after you install the GPU, the resolution will look wonky untill you install the correct drivers.

games will also not work untill you download the correct drivers.

 

just search up ""nvidia drivers"" to find nvidia's website where you download the drivers

Im pretty sure everyone else basically covered it, but basically...

 

  • Open up computer case.
  • Locate back access ports. There are metal plates covering the hole where your graphics card's ports will be on the back of the unit.
  • Remove one or two plates depending on your card. Your card will likely be large enough to require two slots.
  • Simply lower the card down into the slot, lining up the ports with the back.
  • The card should "snap" into place.
  • There will be ports on the card for power. Likely a 6 pin and possibly an additional 4 pin. Connect power.
