ultrawide monitor...

Asus PG348Q ($1199) or Acer Predator X34 ($1020) or AOC Agon AG352UCG ($899)

combined with a 1080 ti

all monitors have the same features 100hz gsync 3440x1440 ultrawide

the acer and asus have ips panels while the aoc has a va panel

whats the difference for gaming between the va and ips panel

any personal recommendation

im currently using a 2560 x 1080 ips 34" ultrawide 60 hz

could you recommend one over the other based on price and the panel?

thank you in advance

IPS has better colours and AOC is a budget brand so you're probably more likely to get bad colour calibration, dead pixels, etc...

Acer x34

I would pick/favour the Asus ROG any time should it cost what the Acer does, there is no true justification for the extra expense but brand name as both panels are on the same level.

Avoid AOC, not worth the cheapening when the x34 is the full 1440p ultrawaide package.

do you think the gsync is worth the premium if running a 1080ti ?

I'll personally never buy another G-Sync monitor if that's any help. For sure it works and makes games run smooth but it's just another thing that could possibly fail and kill your monitor. My PG278Q one day suddenly had distorted text so I disabled G-Sync and helped for a few hours then started again. Lowered refresh rate fixed it for a few hours then suddenly full white screen of death. Come to find out the G-Sync module died and took the whole monitor out with it. IMO, G-Sync is like paying extra for somebody to come by in a year and destroy your monitor. I've never had a monitor die so fast on me, especially an $800 monitor.

Choice is yours but I don't trust it. I know a few others as well that had the same thing kill their monitor.
