(My Opinion) Xbox controllers are better than PS controllers.

whichever you can get for cheaper and/or you have the most friends that have it. although i would argue the xbox has a slightly better controller

I like the Xbox One more. Mostly for exclusives, and my friends have it. I also hate PS controllers.

Ps4 because a lot of XB games are headed to or on PC. Kill two birds with one stone.

Xbox controller suck imo.

 

PS3 has a good controller and i dont like PS4's too much.

 

Just buy a refurb i5 2400-2500 on newegg and throw a 1050ti in it and call it a day

Would love to but it would cost much more than a console with the rest of the parts, the peripherals, windows, etc...

I'd go with the Xbox, but that's because I hate the PS4 controller, and I have more friends that play on that.

Personally I'd go with a console over a basement bargain PC. 720p/900p looks a lot uglier when you're sitting directly in front of it compared to across the room.

Neither, since you don't care about exclusives. Game exclusives are the only real reason to consider a console. Otherwise you'd be better off building an entry level gaming PC. However, I certainly understand the lower barrier to entry cost of consoles, and if you've got a ton of friends that also only game on console. (Those are both just excuses to not buy a PC though, so again, it stems back to exclusives...)

 

To answer your question though: We went with a PS4 as an upgrade to our Xbox 360 / Nintendo Wii for a couple of reasons. First, I find the game exclusives on Sony's consoles offer a better single player experience, probably because they're often more story-driven, at least to me. And second, the UI/UX and online multiplayer on Xbox has gone downhill since the Halo 3 era. Granted the PS4's multiplayer and UI/UX has its' drawbacks too, but I prefer it over the Xbox ONE's current Windows 10-based tile layout.

The only thing the XB1S has over the PS4 family is support for UHD Blu-Ray. So if you want to be on the bleeding edge of movie technology, the answer is pretty clear. Unless you already have a UHD Blu-Ray player.

 

Well, if we considered current things only. The XB1 also has backwards compatibility.
