Ryzen Benchmarks interest?

18 members have voted

  1. 1. How many people would come to smaller youtube channels like mine to see my 6900k go up against the Ryzen R7-1800x I just preordered on newegg?

    • I don't care how big the YouTube channel is- GIVE ME BENCHMARKS!!
      13
    • Leave it to Linus, Paul, etc. for benchmarks- I don't like change..

Don't care who. Just want to see them

You should care.

There's a reason that professional reviewers with proper methodology do the reviews and not random kids on youtube.

Or maybe you want to see more benchmarks like this?

If you're already getting the parts, you might aswell make a vid on it, but I wouldn't buy the parts just to make a video on them kinda.

I do already have it ordered. I'm very interested in this 1800x vs the 6900k I bought awhile back.

My testing methods would be to give both CPU's a dual channel kit of 16GB ddr4 lpx by Corsair at 2133MHz, both a cpu's gtx 1080's at 1607MHz clock speed, both an evga 850w PSU, and aside from eliminating as many other variants as possible, keep each cpu at 4GHz clock speed.

I'm not going to sit through a video to see a bar graph. I will however watch some B-roll porn of the build going together.

It's more complicated than that.

First you need to do a clean install and disable startup processes to prevent background tasks from interfering, windows needs to be updated, tests need to be run at least a few times so that you can figure out the standard deviation which should be less than 1fps.

You also need to clean install and do the same process after changing the motherboard.

You also need to make sure that there is a consistent ambient temperature during all tests so that one isn't running hotter than the other.

Etc etc etc.

If you can actually do all this stuff and consistently get the same test results while also formulating a good entertaining and informative video then congrats maybe you can become a professional reviewer some day.
