Best air cooler for fx 9590?

MeatFeastMan

I'm gonna get a air cooler for the fx 9590 ( 'change to fx 8xxx' , 'wait for zen' and 'get an h100i or better' are not answers). I want the best performing one for the 4.7GHZ stock speed. I have shortened it down to the Thermalright Silver Arrow IB E Extreme and the Noctua NH D15. Which is the best in terms of just temperatures under a really high load?

Also, if there is a better performing one than these, please let me know. I'm also intrigued by the alpenfohn olymp, which can apparently handle 340w of tdp. https://www.alpenfoehn.de/en/cpu-cooler/olymp . If anyone could provide any information on that, that would be great.

This is important: I am NOT interested in noise levels or looks, just pure performance at high speeds.

I have one restriction for the air cooler. It has to be less than 170mm height.

So yeah, which air cooler would do best at dealing with the 9590 (No overclocking)?

The Noctua is probably the best go to option, its priced about right, performs really well, and is just that house name.

Personally, I'd just get a Hyper 212 EVO with some good airflow because you're not going to be able to overclock it very far anyways.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

Is there any air cooler better than the d15 (Like 2 or 3 degrees better on most tests) or should I go with that?

There's no air cooler explicitly better than the NH-D15. It's among the best in performance.

Aside from Noctua NH D15 (one of the best Air coolers), i can recommend the fairly new "EKL Alpenföhn Olymp".

It's cheaper, but can compete with the Noctua, when it comes to Cooling performance per Noise ratio. Very similar results there.

Saw a Review of it, where it even beat the Noctua NH D15 by a few %.
