Seagate FireCuda vs Barracuda?

I need some extra storage for game installation drive (big file game that I rarely play) so I don't wanna spend extra money on SSD and will looking toward a HDD

I already have an overrated WD Black that not even fast, and a slower 5.4k rpm WD Blue ,so I think I'll go for Seagate this time.

I saw new SSHD Firecuda 2TB came out, which they said it's fast, but new Barracuda 2TB is $40 cheaper..

which one is better?

The barracuda is the better choice, due to the fact it is cheaper and the Firecuda's performance increase shows to be minimal after reading a few reviews.

EDIT: The Firecuda is said to be quite reliable, although for $40 I wouldn't spend that much for a durability and small performance increase.

The SSHD is only for frequently used files and you have zero control over what those files are.

Take the Barracuda or get an SSD if you don't have one.

I have a 2TB Firecuda and it's been pretty solid so far. Definitely faster than the old 1TB WD Blue I used to run for my storage drive.

Hi, I want a 2.5" Seagate firecuda 2TB SSHD, it will be better than a normal HDD for storage?, the price difference on amazon is just US $11

Barracuda $101

FireCuda $90

both 2.5" 5,400 rpm

At 5400rpm, either will be slow, just a little less with the Firecuda. The model I have is the 3.5" one at 7200rpm and is an improvement over the 7200rpm drive I had before. Any 7200 drive would be an upgrade over 5400 regardless of the cache.

If those were the only options available, it's only $11. That's about the price of missing 1 fast food meal.
