Well I understand that... I'm just wondering how you managed to score over 200 points higher than me despite having slower core clocks, memory clocks, cpu clocks (with a cpu with way less IPC), and ram clocks.

You might be pushing your memory too hard and ECC is kicking in. (That's if the 1060 has ECC of some description, can't remember)

Maybe they're also using a better driver or maintaining there boost clock longer. Have to keep your card really cool to go really fast.

From what i can tell the 1060 doesn’t have ecc.

His hwbot entry says he’s using stock cooling on his card.

I was using stock cooling yes, but with circulation fans set up to push way more air than normal through the heatsink. I only hit 65C for a moment on my 2707 run.

IIRC my core didnt drop below 2139 on my 2707 run.

Drivers are a possibility, but a 200 point gain is a lot from drivers. If it is truly drivers I should be able to get far beyond 2900 on his drivers with my setup. Will test.

If he would respond with a real answer it would be very helpful here.

Edit: His power consumption is quite low, perhaps a shunt mod? Would be very helpful to have him confirm though.

My internet went out last night sooooo I got drunk and re-did the thermal paste on my 1070 ti and watched the new Ghostbusters movie.  Going back to my screenshots today and, damn it, the screenshots I took were only capturing the window and not the entire desktop with CPUZ and GPUZ and EVGA XOC so my top score isn't valid.  But gosh darn it I am gonna share it anyway.  The new score is so close to 4700 that I am gonna try to hit in a few days when the weather gets colder so I guess it doesn't matter anyway.  And dang it my new score would have been the top 1070 ti.

Tried with drivers as close as possible to what he had, and even with higher clocks I wasn’t able to break 2700.

@NeGaToCan you elaborate on your setup a bit more? Have you done a shunt-mod or BIOS mod to the card? Were you using the card’s stock cooler or water cooling?

You can add CPU-Z and GPU-Z later. Either over this existing screen shots or in a separate post, quoting your original post.

Really?  That isn't cheating?  Also, I can't remember precisely what my settings were last night.  I was kinda drunk.

This isn't a serious thread so nobody really cares too much. It's just best to have clockspeed for napkin math comparisons.

Most of the noobs forget to add CPU-Z and GPU-Z because they can't read (the OP and also generally). Most of them add it later in their post or quote and add it later.

Well I will try to set everything as close to what I had last night and get the screenshots done properly.

Edit:

Here is a screenshot to accompany the scores I achieved the night before.  I'd just re-do the runs, but I need colder weather and an open window to achieve them and the temps are gonna be too high until the middle of next week.  And hopefully then I can get to 4700.

CPU -- 2700X running at 4.27GHz all core and 4.45GHz single core
GPU(s) -- EVGA 1070ti SC running 2075MHz ~ 2035MHz during the run (mostly at 2050MHz) with stock thermal paste replaced with Noctua paste which helped immensely
Average FPS -- 35.12
Score -- 4695

Another round with my GTX 970, this time it ran with a +100MHz core clock without vOp showing:

BTW, it runs at PCIe x8 regardless of motherboard or if a card is in the second x16 slot.

Edit:
And my 2GB 650ti:

You only got one?  You pleb.  But, seriously, how does the shroud on it look in real life?  I was kind put off by it in pictures.  The bumps on the fan blades give me the willies.

It looks better in real life than in pictures.  Honestly, asthetics did not play much of a role, it will be going under water as soon as someone makes a block for it.  I posted pictures in this thread...
