Facebook Blocks DNC Email Wikileaks Links

Not much here, other than group think doing what group think does.

Previously, Facebook was discovered to have removed a Live video of Philando Castille dying, and posts of the Bastille Day aftermath were scrubbed from the newswire. Its news bar has also come under fire for being biased.

 

Facebook can call the issues disparate, but they’re not — not to users. At some point, the ignorance and blind claims of ‘damn that algorithm’ have to end. If Facebook wants us to turn to it for news and treat it seriously, then it has to be much more open.

 

The WikiLeaks link issue has reportedly been fixed, which is great — but also not really the point. The fact links to the archive was blocked at all suggests there’s a very tight reign on what’s allowed on Facebook across the board, and that’s a problem.

Well, I'm not surprised considering Facebook's history of blocking things. I'm surprised that twitter hasn't done the same. Especially when you consider how much pull the DNC apparently has over CNN, MSNBC, and Reuters.

 

The original title is "Facebook admits blocking Wikileaks' DNC email links, but won't say why". But I didn't use that title because I don't see any evidence of Facebook admitting that, and refusing or failing to say why.

 

P.S: Alex Stamos is a "security executive" for Facebook, according to his linkdin page. Although with recent history in mind, despite his response, this still stinks to high heaven.

Where is this? I only saw some tweets, but didn't see Glenn. And I would argue that Milo is just as biased, albeit FAR more intelligent than anyone else in the GOP. Trump should have gotten Milo as his running mate. Would have royally fucked the DNC. (can't argue anti-gay with a gay vice president lol)

They've been censoring and blocking a lot of things, namely many conservative outlets and external links to their websites. That much is well known.

 

I'm just saying in this particular instance it may not be intentional. Google has malware detection in Chrome and it has often flagged LTT even though nothing was wrong.
