Project "Easy Bake Oven"

Project “Easy Bake Oven”: A Mini-ITX Gaming Build.

The project name arose from initial tests with components I already had on hand. While under load the GPU would reach 80c and the case would be hot to the touch. In addition to the case initially acting like an oven, the motherboard's LEDs and plans to increase ventilation will make the case look like an oven as well. Thus the odd project name I decided to give to this tiny build. Enjoy!

eeyyy I am getting the big brother of that case (the Styx also in silver). The 480 and your i5 should make a very nice and balanced system.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Feel free to pm me if you have a question for me or quote me. If you want to hear what I have to say about something just tag me.

I didn't know it had an older brother. Nice! It has ventilation on the top, and much sexier than my DIY top ventilation.

well it is kinda just a bigger version and I love the look of the metis, but it would just not work for me sadly. I am sure that you can get the top to look nice.

I installed the Motherboard, CPU, CPU Cooler, RAM and SSD. The USB 3.0/Audio PCB was removed, but will be reincorporated later on.

Drilling and cutting the top plate for additional ventilation (2 120mm intake fans). The plate was then filed and sanded to remove sharp edges. The cuts were less than perfect cosmetically, but the fit of my place holder fans was flawless. Even though it was an accident lets all just say from now on that the worn look was intentional, because I'm actually really beginning to like the look. :D

I decided to go with a Noctua NH-D9L instead of the Corsair H50. As a result, I got three Noctua NF-F12 case fans instead of the three Fractal Design fans in my original plan. The PSU was Installed, moved the SSD forward and removed the RAM heat spreaders. I just used my current EVGA GTX 950 GPU for this build, but I will likely be updating it after I'm done with custom cabling/cable management which will be next.

haha that's funny.

In all reality, the GPU absolutely cooks in that case without mods or a blower design.

Silverstone FT-05: 8 Broadwell Xeon (6900k soon), Asus X99 A, Asus GTX 1070, 1tb Samsung 850 pro, NH-D15

Resist!

Can confirm, as my GPU was reaching 75-80c while under load before the case modifications. Now it reaches a maximum of 65c without the top fans blowing on it. However, having my motherboard's orange LEDs resemble an oven's heating element is the icing on the cake and continuously makes me grin.

Dude could you do me a huge favour and measure the power button size please? I am expecting one of these tomorrow, but could do with a head start so I can get the order in for a replacement quicker as they take a while to arrive from HK.

Cheers !
