Schiit makes the highest value amps and DACs available (Magni, Modi). The closest competing product stack is the O2 and ODAC, which costs more and has less power and features unless fitted with expensive upgrades.

If you hate money, get the Vali 2 and an Electro Harmonix 6922 Gold tube and let me know how that sounds. Otherwise get the Magni 2 which will do pretty much the same thing for less money.

Hi I am thinking about getting a pair of Hifiman HE400i, so I am looking for a amp.

the two amps I am looking at are:

Vali 2 (tube)

Magni 2

I want to know what is best for the Hifiman HE400I, I like the sound signature AKG uses on their K612 pro and K702.

Well many people said to me that Schiit is pretty good and the Objective2 should also be pretty good.

I have the objective2 from Mayflower Electronics and I can't complain about it. I use a pair of beyerdynamic DT 990's 250OHM headphones and the Objective2 is more than enough power for them and the sound quality is superb.

It's still an Objective2... it's the same thing just in a different package.

They are all made on the same design.

NwAvGuy's design is creative commons, so if you want to make an Objective 2 it has to be that design. It doesn't matter if it's made by Mayflower, JDS Labs or Massdrop.

Because Mayflower is the company that put the shell around mine... the inside (the part that counts) is always the same otherwise it's not an Objective2.

The Objective2 was created by a guy and then the designs were put on the internet for free and as long as people call it an Objective2, they can make it and sell it for whatever they want to.

The solid state Schiit amps and O2 should sound the same because they are audibly transparent. If you're so curious, maybe you should buy a Vali 2 and return it if you don't like it over solid state. If you really like the FR of a headphone, you could also consider just getting that headphone instead. For example you can do K702 and no amp, and save some money.

the 612pro and 702 are so similar in sound that alot of people really cant tell the difference between them when it comes to sound.
