[School] Bing has been 'black-listed'

You have to have your safe search at a higher setting than default.

Schools are (usually) hopelessly behind with, well, everything tech related. The blacklisting for my school was so bad that some pr0n sites weren't blocked. Workarounds were dirt easy.

"Normandy" i7 4790K - GTX 970 - Phantom 410 (Gun metal) - Z97 Extreme4 (asrock) - 128GB Crucial SSD - 1TB WD HDD - H60 Refurb. - 7 case fans | G710+ Keyboard, G230 Headset, Acer GN246HL Monitor.

Quick thoughts on system: I7 is extremely quick and I'm glad I spent the extra for hyper-threading. I regret my decision to get the GTX 970, it has horrible coil whine. There isn't any excuse for this terrible whine I and others are having. I HIGHLY recommend a 144hz monitor. Future Improvements/upgrades: Rubber fan mounts, basic speakers, more ram (for a total of 16gb), replace GPU.

144hz is love. 144hz is life. I like to submit unfinished posts then do about 20 edits. I like the Night Theme too.

This is so funny.. we were joking around in Software Design and Development class about who uses Bing these days; so we tried to compare Bing and Google Search side by side..

Microsoft has a side by side Bing vs Google comparison, its called bingiton.com

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

Considering it's Microsoft's own's comparison it's likely to be biased.

Give it a shot.  I don't know how it can be biased since you get to pick the search terms and you get to pick the winner...

Google turned out to be better for me http://www.bingiton.com/result I like how it shows map results and looks for definitions and such for you.

What I have found is Google really isn't a search engine.  It is a "Indexing Engine".  If you're wanting to find something, that you already know, Google is often times the top notch option.  "Man I remember this news article from a few months ago, I need to find it again..." that is a job for Google.  But, when it comes to learning something new, something that you had no prior knowledge about, I find Bing to be a true "Search Engine".  If you're in a new city and you want to eat Chinese Food, Bing is the best place to go so you can find a highly rated Chinese Restaurant close to you.

Additionally, the way you search for each thing is a different type of search.  If you're looking for a specific Restaurant, like "Osaki Sushi Train in Bowling Green", that search is different than "Sushi in Bowling Green".  And I'd have to say Google has done a great job at training people to search on their search engine, which hinders competitors without any ability to overcome it.

I remember when I was at school, some kid got onto the server computer and changed the cyber nanny exe file to 'X', then he went around to every computer showing other kids how to 'create shortcut to X' to get the exe to disable cyber nanny. So I started doing it, but somehow the IT teacher found out and demanded to know how I got that shortcut on my user account. I played dumb and she believed that I had no clue.

Linus is my fetish.
