oh man , I'm waiting for reviews on that board ... The amount of power phases it appears to have is insane. I might snag one too if they get good reviews and don't cost too much

OC Formula has 17 I believe, and soc force has ~24.

Oc formula will probably be a better board still, the last gens of it have been god tier for benching.

damn gigabyte O.o 24phase wow ... too bad the board is hideous ... actually almost all 170 series boards so far are imo

speaking of power phases , see this http://www.galax.net/US/980tihofLN2.html ? i want one but cant find any fr sale ;-;

Bear in mind they're using doublers, the actual phase count isn't as high as it looks if you just count the chokes.

For example, the Asrock Z97 OC Formula claimed to be 12+4 phases, but is actually 6+2 with an IR3598 doubler (it's not just Asrock that does this, just an example).

Do you mean full phases like VRM->Choke->Capacitor?

Speaking of Asrock, I'll ptobably be picking up a Z170 OC formula. Nice review!

The OCF is super sexy. The black and yellow one, right? God, if they used that color scheme in an ITX form factor, i would be all over it.

Yeah it's this one:

It already has quite a bit of records on hwbot already, fastest RAM speed of all time so far!

Wow , this board looks pretty cool! I'm probably getting this one over the Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI if its price won't go higher in Germany next week.

Nothing. Save a few bucks and go with the Extreme4.

Wow, ended up becoming an EVGA topic! :D I have their 980Ti with me but they're the ACX models.

Hey Goldfries, you never updated us on how well the z170m extreme4 board OCs. Did you ever get the chance to test it? Any idea how the OC would stack up against ROG Gene VIII?
