What is the best mid range graphics card for under £200 (~$300)

Kalinco

Does anyone know what a good graphics card would be for moderate gaming but for a £200 budget? I have at the moment;

Intel core I5 4690k

Asus H81I-PLUS motherboard

16gb Corsair LP Vengence RAM

25 over, but definitely worth it. It'll slay any 1080p game with ease ;) http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-r9290aedfd

If you don't want to go over budget the 280X is a great option as well http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-r9280xtdbd Although, the 290X is definitely worth the extra cash imo

970 is rather out of budget, coming in at around £270 on average from what I have found

Ok just looked at the XFX Radeon R9 290 Double Dissipation and 250 Watts!!! I don't think my be quiet l8 400 watt psu will hold up to that!, knowing that, any other suggestions that might have a lower TDP?

Try a GTX 960 :) It isn't as powerful, but it's more than enough for 1080p. (And obviously it's more power efficient)

 GTX 900 series then. I think most those cards should be fine, other than the 980 maybe. So again a 970 for 220 is perfect. http://www.newegg.com/global/uk/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121899&cm_re=970-_-14-121-899-_-Product

No.

The thing is I like the look of that XFX card, do you think it is possible to get a better psu on top of a r9 290?

r9 290 is around £200 on most sites, if you hunt about on eBay I've seen some 290x go for little over 240 which is worth the extra if you ask me.

most products on Newegg can't be shipped to the UK when you get to the final stages of the checkout.

I tried to get a 980 and it said it had shipping restrictions...ergo they won't ship to uk
