  1. Why is the RAM kit so expensive ?!?!
  2. What about the GPU ?

I have a R9 280, that will suffice for now.

The RAM isn't that far off the US price after the exchange rate, it is only $10 more.

Did you put a screen protector on it?

If not I can suggest a few good ones in case you're interested.

If you're using Ryzen why not at least get a 7?

In any case enjoy the new build.  ?

3rd?    Because they keep breaking or a different reason?

Good idea.  Are you sticking with the same CPU or a different one?

Same CPU.

The store has confirmed the refund, but they haven't given me meh my back yet.

I'll be chasing them up, I want to use that money to buy my stuff with.

You show them who's boss.  ?

I had to do that with Amazon yesterday to get them to give me a refund for an anime set once it had a tracking scan with UPS so I could have the money sooner to reorder it.

I picked up an Elitebook 8770w.

It's a freaking tank, but that's what I like about it. Beats the pants off of my Sony Vaio POS that I've been using.

It's got the following specs

Core i7 3520m @ 2.9ghz

8GB DDR3 RAM (which I'm looking to upgrade to 16GB)

500GB Samsung 840 EVO

2TB HDD

I'm not a huge computer gamer (Oblivion is the most intensive game I have). I bought it because I wanted a solid laptop, not the plastic pieces of junk you get at Wal-Mart (been there, done that). I got to use the 8570 at a work seminar last week and I really liked it. Went to buy one on Ebay and found that the 17" was around $400 (which was my budget).

I'm mostly going to use it for general computing, running a Plex media server and school.

The only things I'm looking to do are upgrade the RAM to 16GB, swap the keyboard to the one with backlight support (which is on the way), and eventually swap out the display to one of the supported 1920x1080p displays, upgrading from the 1600x900 display it currently has.

Unless this dude got his hands on some tricced out card, nope. It's Sapphire's Platinum edition which is just black and silver IIRC.

Same.   Even a chance the screen could be scratched by the dock is too scary to risk.

I even got a little fan thing to blow air at my switch while docked to hopefully assist with cooling it.

Idk if it helps or even matters but at least it makes me feel better.
