Need help with Camera (canon t7i)

I have noticed when i take close pictures, the Image seems to have a fish eye effect (or something like it)

 

Camera: canon t7i, latest firmware 

lens Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM

I just slap it in Lightroom and beep the profile correction button:

IDK if there's other softwares to do that, am a noob.

What focal length was the picture taken at?

 

Are there any options for in-body lens corrections? (Sonys have this option, and I would assume Canon does too).

 

That does look really weird, though... almost like the focal length changes from the center to the outside... can you take a picture of a constant pattern (brick wall, siding, etc.) for comparison?

The 18-55mm on the lens.

 

It is not unusual for there to be some distortion in some situations, depending on the lens. These can usually be corrected in software, or camera if new enough (I don't know that model). If it is always excessive, possibly the lens is faulty.

Try doing this, but keep the camera pointing as straight as you can to the test surface. Avoid any tilt if possible.

you can try and turn on canons built in distortion correction.

with the dozens of 18-55 I've used never seen anything like that

These are typically kit lenses, built to a price point and  can often times be pretty naff. Looks like you got a bad one in your kit. 

Pick yourself up a 50mm f/1.8, they are cheap new, and even cheaper used, and will change your (photography) life

You didn't happen to turn on some sort of in-camera keystone correction, did you?

 

Do a full reset in both the orange and yellow menu's and see if that fixes it.
