CPU overheating, but fans blowing cool air?

Ok, so I've had my computer for around 3 years now. It's a Ryzen 1700 OC to 3.8, 1080, 32gb ram. I use an AIO to cool it (H100i). Only in the last month have I noticed my CPU temperatures starting to rise. I used to peak at 62c, even when under full load. Now I'm reaching 93 at 50% load. The weird part is that the fans I have hooked up to my radiator are blowing cool air out. At first I thought it might be that the pump is bad, but when I'm not under load it's hovers between 42 and 60(if I have internet open), if the pump was bad, wouldn't it just ramp up even when it's not under load? Currently, I have 3 intake case fans in the front, one exhaust case fan in the back, and 4 pressure fans in a push/pull configuration at the top exhausting. Like I said though, it's never been a problem before, only in the last month. I clean my PC every month or so, and just finished cleaning it again. 

 

any ideas?

Replace your thermal paste, see what that does. How long does it take to go above 93 degrees?

For as long as I'm in game (not in menues). So I'm avoiding gaming atm because of this.

That would be my first try. Any other changes to the system? Pump could be slowly failing.

If replacing the thermal paste/ensuring the mount is good doesn't fix it, try throwing on the stock cooler for a bit to determine if the AIO is the issue.

Yeah, thermal paste didn't seem to fix it, I'll give the stock cooler a try next. Thanks for the help all

Sounds like either bad pump or plugged up block. Doesn't surprise me that at idle is fine but load is high. Feel the return line of the rad, is it cool or hot? If it's cool, it's likely plugged.

could be an air bubble in the pump, do you have the radiator installed above the height of the CPU Block so the air bubble can head up to the radiator.

The other thing you can try is turn off the machine turn the case on its side so your motherboard is laying flat. then turn it on the airbubble should push out into the radiator if it is that.

If the radiator is below the CPU Block it could be the air has moved into the pump and if thats the highest point it won't move from there.

Feel the tubes going in / coming out of the CPU block.

If one side is warm / hot, and the other side is cool, then there is something wrong with the pump and/or CPU block.

Thanks for all of the replies. I replaced it with the stock cooler, and it seems to be working a lot better. So something is definitely wrong with my cooler. I did feel the tubes before I replaced it and one side was warm, the other not, so I'll check for a block. If it's not blocked, ill assume it's the pump and get a new cooler. Thanks for the help everyone!

If the rad was not getting warm/hot then heat wasnt being transferred which indicates a mounting problem, or coolant flwo problem, either from a dead/dying pump or block getting clogged from buildup which isnt an unheard of thing with AIOs.

 

If the AIO is outside warranty and u tried a remount  ..then there no harm trying some basic DIY fix.

Remove the coldplate and inspect the microfins, ull likely need to refill / top up the AIO after doing all this even if ur careful not to spill anything so be sure to have some coolant ready.

Is there a specific kind of coolant I should use, or will distilled water be fine? and again, thanks for the help!

AIO use mixed metals so ull want to use a premix with an inhibitor in it, usually glycol based.

 

If ur carefull though and keep the block up above the rest of the AIO and pointing up, u shouldnt loose much if any coolant, it just might be a pain to keep it like that for the entire duration of the job.
