Cannot chose what cpu to go with

So I am in the middle of planing out a new build. But  I cannot seem to chose what cpu to go with. These are the cpu's I am looking at currently ryzen 3600,3600x and the 3700x. Also are the 2600 and 1800x cpu any good in 2020? I mainly use this pc for school work and some gaming on the side like at 1080p want more than 60 FPS. My budget is $1500 CAD and my gpu that I will be going with is the gigabyte 2070 super.

i would recommend 2nd-3rd gen if you can afford. I have a first gen cpu and I dont really have a problem with it but i do want to upgrade

Do you know what 2nd to 3rd gen is good for my needs? is the 2700x any good or do you think I should spend the extra cash and get a 3rd gen?

The 3600 is likely more than enough, unless you do heavy multi-core workloads (does not sound like it), and will perform the same as a 3700x in gaming. Do you need peripherals within that budget as well?

 

Also 2070S is terrible value, especially here in Canada, I recommend the RX 5700XT.

depends on what games you play. I play fallen order using 1st gen and its fine but i will need to upgrade eventually depends on what you play and how long you intent to use the rig you build before upgrade

ok I plan on using this rig for a long time before I upgrade so I most likely will go with the 3600
