Just another day with the 5700XT - Is this a known issue with freesync?

Tomthehitman

Honestly just when I think I have manged to get the 5700XT stable with the current drivers I upgrade my monitor (MAG271CQRMAG) and was having this issue when using freesync. It appears to be working now that I have disabled it and capped the frame rate. Has anyone else had issues with 1440p 144hz moniotrs with the 5700xt and Freesync?

EDIT: I know this probably isnt caused by drivers but it's just another anoyance in trying to get BF4 working with the 5700XT

I did have one game that was doing that spin, but I never had freesync on for it. I just figured it was glitching on the input signal from my mouse. (as that most definitely does happen)

Honestly if they had sorted the driver issues out then this card would absolutly be worth it, but as things stand I think I would rather of paid the £100 extra and got an equivilant Nvida card just to save hassle and know that it works when you plug it in. I have had the card 2 months now and have spent more time messing around with reinstalling drivers and black screens than I have playing actual games, and I had to pay for the privilege!

I'd hardly call 8 months "at launch", and it shouldn't take a company a year to sort a product.

It's still pathetic.

its big change for them, they spend 6-8 years on versions of GCN. I see a point on being hard on the 5600xt due to the vbios changes.

AMD as always launched a little early.

Yea I didn't really look into too much as most the reviews were praising the card for it's price to performance, maybe non of them had any issues.....

Yeah when I was using a 590 with a freesync monitor BF3 wouldn't accept any mouse inputs at all in game (menu's worked fine) but if I changed my mouse input type it would do exactly what you showed in your clip there.

Maybe more of an issue with Frostbite and Freesync then.

Yes, as a matter of fact I have... And even they have the sense to admit that even the most prevalent issues are either minor enough to not seriously affect the usage of the card, or are a 1-in-6000 or some such chance of happening to you. (and is usually fixed by RMAing and getting a different brand of card)

Yes, as a matter of fact I have... And even they have the sense to admit that even the most prevalent issues are either minor enough to not seriously affect the usage of the card, or are a 1-in-6000 or some such chance of happening to you. (and is usually fixed by RMAing and getting a different brand of card)

Having to RMA a card because of drivers is completely unacceptable.

Nobody is saying otherwise. But many of your statements (especially the one where you equate memes with evidence) come across as rather ignorant.

Doesn't change the fact it's true. Also, don't really care what you think ?‍♂️

What's true? The OP hasn't had to RMA his card and we don't know if this is driver related. The BF4 spinning glitch isn't new either.

@Tomthehitman Have you tried re-enabling FreeSync to see if it repeats itself?  This is a common BF4 glitch if you've got more than one input device connected, even if they aren't actually moving.  Both a mouse and controller for example.  Vjoy will also cause it.
