Just another day with the 5700XT - Is this a known issue with freesync?

Tomthehitman

The drivers were fine until adrenaline 2020. In fact they were very good. It's just recently their drivers have been screwy.  I have owned both amd and Nvidia.

I refuse to read threads whose author does not know how to remove the caps lock!

Then just DDU the current drivers, and install the older ones... That isn't something any less prevalent with Nvidia drivers.

Oh I am not complaining. My system runs great. Was just informing the Op that the drivers weren't always shoddy.

Doesn't change the fact it's true. Also, don't really care what you think ?‍♂️

Oh change the record FFS, all you ever do is hate on amd... it's really the worst kind of fanboi crap that pollutes these kinds of threads... you're utterly incapable of accepting any other point of view that doesn't fit with your own narrow minded blinkered view.

What's true? The OP hasn't had to RMA his card and we don't know if this is driver related. The BF4 spinning glitch isn't new either.

@Tomthehitman Have you tried re-enabling FreeSync to see if it repeats itself?  This is a common BF4 glitch if you've got more than one input device connected, even if they aren't actually moving.  Both a mouse and controller for example.  Vjoy will also cause it.

@JoostinOnline There was no second device plugged in. I have updated to the optional 20.2.1 drivers and am running BF4 in borderless mode with freesync turned off and my second monitor disabled. This seems to be running okay, if I run it in fullscreen mode I get the DXGI error. I have googled and can't seem to figure out what is causing this, it seems that the drivers are cashing during gameplay and then crashing the game. I have attached an image of the error.

Back on my GT 630m BF4 was having those same problems... Unstable in fullscreen, crashing drivers, etc. The game engine itself is not very stable on cards it wasn't specifically designed for. I also had issues if I had a second monitor active when playing. Sounds to me like this one is just the game engine not liking the card, and has nothing to do with the drivers.

You're probably right, I'll have to keep an old PC just to play BF4 on ha!

That they've had lackluster drivers for ages.

I never said he had to RMA his card, that was someone else's comment.

Not true at all. I suggest 3rd gen AMD CPUs for someone doing things in addition to gaming, or anything in the mid tier and lower.

Their GPUs, however, aren't great when it comes to drivers. As GamersNexus and Jays2Cents repeatedly point out. As has been proven by numerous bugs.

I'm a fanboi, yup. For the products that work the best.

A blinkered view? Haha, right. Except there's facts to back it up, meaning your opinion is irrelevant.
