Christmas specials can't come fast enough

Dizz_Man

Been slowly grabbing some parts for my new PC when they've been discounted.

Current PC has an i7 3770 and the poor bugger is hanging on by a thread (ayyy). Playing current online games is burning it to a crisp 90+C when just gaming

I just want her to hold on until I get my new PC! :(

Well yeah it's a cooling problem, things running on the intel box cooler cause the AIO pump died last year.

I can't wait for sales though because this isn't really my pc, it's more of a family one, and I don't really want to buy a new cooler for this one, had it since early 2013.

So having my own that's just perfect and no problems will be great :)

Fiiinne, I might consider buying a cheap-better-than-box-cooler tower.

But maybe after I get the rest of my parts ;)

I mean if you can get a decent AIO or tower cooler there’s nothing stopping you from throwing it on your current rig until you get new ones

Well ya see, i'm going Ryzen 3700X and plan on using it's Wraith Max RGB cooler. Not incompatible with 115x sockets. I'm trying to spend less money not more lmao

I feel if you’re spending the kind of cash on a 3700x you should do it, it’s justice and put any type of aftermarket cooler on it. You can go cheap and get a solid air cooler that significantly outperforms a stock AMD cooler

A Cryorig H7 or Hyper 212 is like 25 - 30 dollars, both of these would still be better than what AMD gives you. Yes, it's better than the crushed soda can Intel gives you, but a tower cooler still cools more efficiently.
