Do you have 2 and 4GB stick in dual channel perhaps? Try moving them over to a single-channel setup.

So e.g. if you have the sticks in slot 2 and 4, move one of the sticks a slot over.

But I would first start by reseating your memory, it's entirely possible the 2GB stick is not detected properly.

I'm more concerned with why your CPU is reporting only 8°C... Is it really cold where you are?

Can you post a screenshot of the Windows Task Manager Performance - Memory page so we can see what it is reporting.

I'm pretty sure I have one of those motherboards somewhere.

Doesn't it have Onboard something like Radeon 3000 series Graphics with a bios setting for reserve memory for the intergrated graphics?

Edit: Yeah, in the bios, change the memory reserved for the intergrated grapics.

Also, what on earth is the ambient in that room?

Edit 2: If you're not using the integrated graphics, (the VGA port on the motherboard) there should be a setting to disable it as well.
