Sorry everyone, I was away for college prep yesterday, no time for PC playtime.

I've been polishing the XSPC blocks, should have pics this evening.

Maybe I don't write on this forums at all, but I'm keeping eye on every build log here, and this one is amazing.

I really hate the looks of caselabs cases, but you're making interior such an epicness I don't mind the exterior.

Waiting for more pics!

Haha, thank you!

Tastes differ, and I think that's a pretty good thing. The world would be rather

boring if everyone liked the same things. If I can still interest you despite that,

then cool. :D

I love Tiramisu!

I'm currently working on the update for tonight! It's not going to be huge, but

this is a slow build log anyway... :D

Plus the Chocolat Suisse is so yummmmyyyyyyy

That it is indeed.

Crap, now I drooled all over my keyboard.

On topic: this topic needs more pics! ;)

As for the topic:

Various Small Bits

I've been asked if I could provide some info on the Platimax for those who are

considering sleeving this PSU as well.

The GPU Cable

The GPU power cables on the Platimax consist of one 12 pin connector on the PSU side

(six 12 V pins and six ground pins) and two 6+2 pin connectors on the GPU side. Since

that's four more connectors on the GPU side than on the PSU side, the additional ground

wires are clamped together on their way back to the PSU.

GPU Cable - Ground Wire Clamp

There are two of these clamps per GPU cable, one for each 6+2 pin connector. I haven't

really found a nice way to get around these so what I did is simply remake the entire

cable, as you've seen in my previous post. Since my wires needed to be a lot longer

anyway this wasn't a big deal.

The 24 Pin + 8 Pin EPS

The 24 pin cable is bundled with one of the 8 pin EPS cables. There is another 8 pin

EPS which you can run separately, and which also has a 4 pin for the CPU on it, should

you need that instead.

aw--helios--2013-07-18--03--platimax-24p

And the other end of the above. There are a few double wires, the most annoying pair

being the ones stacked right on top of each other. Not very nice...

My Own GPU Cable - PSU Side

Since the Titan has a 6 pin and an 8 pin on its PCB you end up with 14 wires. I took the

additional two ground wires of the PCI-E 8 pin connector and ran them to a different

connector's ground pins on the PSU side.

The Raystorms

And now for the pr0n part of today's evening. I've polished the raystorms to a mirror shine.

It's not yet absolutely perfect, but it's not much further... :)

Other Stuff

I'm still experimenting with the copper tubing. I've needed to order some additional parts

for that, so it will take me a week or two until I can continue. Until then I'm a bit stalled.

Unless I think of something else to do, we'll see... ;)

As always, thanks for stopping by. :)

I'm pretty sure there is something against the photo in the Code of Conduct:

That photo is just pure pornography.

love what you did to the cables.

planning to do that to my cables too after I saw a guide in OCN but every time I start doing it, I'd then realize how tiring it is then I'll stop doing it.  :D

awesome job, sir!

Ah, looney...

I'm still not done with the blocks though, most likely I'm going to paint the

brackets completely black, not really happy with that naked alu look in there

between the copper and the black face plate.

I'm assuming you are referring to the lacing? I actually have a guide on that as well

here. And you're right, it does take an absolutely ridiculous amount of time. :D

How did you polish the water blocks? Also you could polish the aluminum, It's looks like chrome when it's polished up real good. Warning though! You may need sun glasses to look at all that shiny stuff. Your attention to detail is inspiring my friend!

Wet sanding with 600 - 800 - 1200 - 2000 - 2500 - 3000 - 5000 grit paper by hand (a few

minutes each), then polish with a felt pad and 10000 grit polishing compound on a random

orbital sander, also for a few minutes. It's not actually that tricky, but it was a bit

of a long journey to get there and figure out how to do it since I've never done anything

like it before.

I have actually thought about polishing the bracket, but I think I would prefer it black.

Making it black would take a way a bit of contrast (downside), but would fit much better

with the colour scheme of the build. But thanks for the suggestion. :)

As for the shininess, if I can get it right I will also polish the pipes. :D

I'm really excited to see how the pipes are going to turn out.

You (and many others on this amazing forum) are really inspiring me to do some pc modding myself! I just wouldn't know where to start  ^_^

Thanks, that's very nice of you. I think looking at other mods is a pretty good start,

I got inspired for HELIOS by PrometheusCU, as mentioned in the opening post of this

thread.

As for the inspiring spark, for the that's a very organic process. I don't really follow

any rigid process, I just start with something that piques my interest and see where that

takes me, then go on from there. Sometimes I have an overall concept, sometimes not so much.
