Upgrading my M.2 SSD

Car712

Ok so, currently I have this: https://www.newegg.com/corsair-force-mp300-120gb/p/N82E16820236394?Item=N82E16820236394 which has worked alright for me, until I found out that corsair is basically false advertising this as a NVME drive, as it only has the speeds of a SATA M.2 drive.... Anyways, I found this refurbished 970 evo on Best Buy for only $40, sounds like an amazing deal. But im wondering, is buying a refurbished NVME drive worth it, or will it just cause me more problems in the long run?

The 970 evo: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-geek-squad-certified-refurbished-970-evo-250gb-internal-pci-express-3-0-x4-nvme-ssd-for-laptops-with-v-nand-technology/6315437.p?skuId=6315437

Corsair isn't lying. Small capacity NVMe drivers are slow. The higher.thr capacity, the higher.thr speeds.

256 ones aren't much faster. You need 500GB or more to really start seeing speeds of 1GB/s or more. But frankly, a SATA 3 MX500 is going to be fast, cheap and high capacity so I'd look at that.

I wouldn't bother with small NVME drives. Just get something SATA with a higher capacity, you won't notice the difference.
