Ryzen 5 3600 or 3600x ?

Which CPU would be better for me if I dont want to overclock and want the lowest power usage ?

Speed-wise, the Ryzen 5 3600X is faster as it has a faster clock speed, but the performance difference is, in many cases, insignificant according to many reviews of the CPU. Power-wise, it has a higher TDP, and while TDP isn't necessarily equal to power consumption, the fact that it's clocked higher and comes with a better cooler than the 3600 should indicate that it uses more power. And if you were considering spending $50 extra on your CPU just for the sake of cooling, you can just buy a $50 air cooler. It'll be better than the 3600X's stock cooler.

 

tl;dr - Just get the Ryzen 5 3600.

3600 is a better value and performs within a few percent of the x.

3600, lower tdp, slightly lower clockspeeds. Also if you need the extra speed you can just OC it. Basically same case as 2600/2600x.

I would only get a 3600x if you plan on using the stock heatsink. The one that comes with the 3600 is pretty bad but then again that $50 can get you a better heatsink.

 

 

Get the 3600. Cool the 3600 it will boost just as high as the 3600x with pbo. Outside of the cooler it's not worth the extra $50

The 3600x cooler is pretty shit. No copper core/vapor chamber like the old ones.

And better auto overclock, othen then that.... you are wasting 50$ IMO.

Get the 3600 and a 50$ cooler, then give it a mild static OC. It will probably boost the same or better as the 3600X with the bad cooler

I mean, I don't really think so... Hardware Unboxed and Tech Deals both actually found out the R5 3600 to have a higher boost when using PBO+AutoOC then the R5 3600X when not thermally limited... so yeah...

I mean thats what the number says, but in reality..... thats just gimmick IMO, you pay an extra 50$ to get higher stock numbers but you need a better cooler to acheive those numbers, thats like another 50-100$
