Weird Chinese Tech Forums?

TBGBgamer
Go to solution Solved by kulerz,

well, I think i know a thing or two about these two forums.

as you mentioned that "GPU Fourm" is actually refers to  '显卡' . at first is  a graphic card forum provide by tieba.baidu.com,  which then became a place that  a lot of people discuss computer hardwares in china.

"Tualatin Fourm" is actually refers to  图拉丁 another forum provide by tieba.baidu.com, people also discuss hardwares here.

as for tieba.baidu.com  you can think it's like reddit in china .

these two forums often came out some funny rigs, and whimsical ideas, which definitely make you laugh .

like shoe box case or radish radiator……

One day I had a weird idea and I just tried to watch LTT videos on a Chinese video website called "Bilibili" (I learnt a little Chinese before) and I found a comment like this:

Linus could get different video ideas for a long time if he has a  Chinese guide in "GPU Forum" and "Tualatin Forum".

These forums sounds weird, what does these "forums" mean?

I think its bit racist to call them weird just because they are in Chinese. There are pretty weird forums within English-speaking community, starting with Reddit and 4chan.

The two forums mentioned are really popular among Chinese hardware enthusiasts. They are famous respectively for recommanding expensive products and building extremely cheap DIY computers. But there are other dedicated forums you can check. For example, koolshare and enshan are great. (the two forums I mentioned are network focused because that's what I'm interested in)

well to the Chinese the LTT form is a weird English forum.

Also welcome to our weird English forum!

The fact is tualatin forum used to be actually legit like they came up with many inventions and mods that you guys wouldn't even Imagine, they came up with first the Tualatin overclock (Obviously, that's where they got the name) and then is the 771 to 775 mod, many people were shocked and it is one of the very big event in the forum. Then they also came up with mod stickers that allowed you to hard overclock some 1155 even they are not unlocked and then some stickers that allow 9th gen to be put up on h110s It is obviously a large forum consists of a few million members.

Rig of Graphic Card Forum:

Probably X58 or X79, this is taken a long time ago.

Rig of Tualatin Forum:

Probably P35 or G41 up there with diy water cooling. edit: 775 platform is still very popular in tualatin bar even though they more focused on 2011 and 1366 nowdays. From the number of sata ports i can determine this is a P35.

What you are saying is exactly right

There are a lot of geeks in Tualatin bar but apparently not any more and many are left since Baidu changed Tieba's policy and many posts before 2017 are deleted and now tualatin forum is full of trash about bunch of newbies to computers asking about specs.
