Canada 10gb wire and jacks

were is a good place to order some good quality but decent priced 10gb cable and keystone jacks. Live in Canada so want something that ships within Canada.

For 10gbps you need cat6a cable (cat7 is not "official", and it's most likely cat6a anyway) or cat6 if the distances are small (let's say under 30 meters).  Anything higher than cat6 or cat6a is kinda pointless.

 

I don't know any stores specialized in networking, but Digikey and Newark/Farnell  are two big distributors of electronic components which stock ethernet jacks and keystone jacks.

They also stock cable but usually in minimum lengths, like spools of 100 meters, or 305 meters.

should have said looking for bulk cable. Future proofing my house and in the near future will be transferring large amounts of files from one portable setup to another.

Cat7 is an odd cable - it's standardized, but not by the same organization that standardized the other cable specs. Cat 7/7a is from the IEC. Cat 6 and the older cable standards are from the TIA.

 

Both are "official", just official from different sources.

 

Cat 6 is rated for 250 MHz, Cat 6a at 500 MHz, and Cat 7 comes in at 600 MHz. Cat 7a is good up to 1000 MHz.

 

In theory, that does make Cat 7 and 7a "better", but if 10GigE is the end game? Literally won't make any difference, so Cat 6a is likely a lot cheaper anyway.
