sci.fi.man got a reaction from don_svetlio in Best bang for the buck GPU?
even my 5" phone have 1080p display on it lol  . I don't mind to play game on low res (at least for now). I tried play Fallout4 on my Intel HD4600 (720p on very very low settings), and i cry due 15 fps
already on my list right now (HIS R9 380 4GB IceQ). is HIS any good other than another brand like ASUS or Sapphire?

sci.fi.man got a reaction from don_svetlio in Best bang for the buck GPU?
actually i have a plan to switch to higher 21:9 monitor (2560x1080) but maybe another time since i'm still enjoy using 900p monitor and 720p monitor for the secondary ones. but thanks for the tips
Lets see the price of the 380X yet, if it's expensive here so i'll stick with 380 and OC it. thanks

I play at 1080p at high settings, thibk it is even at ultra without msaa bf4 with around 60fps so i would go for that.
What you can do if you buy a higher end gpu is to make it render the game at a higher resolution to get better picture quality like with msaa

I feel your pain
750Ti will be little bit too week to play newest games(at leas Witcher 3) on ultra settings even on that resolution. I would save for R9 390/R9 380/x

You can try to do a number of things, but I'd test it in another system so you don't end up wasting your time at first.

145 degrees? In C, you would be dead. In F, you would still be dead.

sci.fi.man reacted to Sousuke in help! Pentium-r9 280
Seriously reading this thread makes me think either the Original Poster has a lower IQ count than normal or he is trying to bait this community into having an argument with him.
The Pentium is a very good 2 Core CPU however it will NEVER beat out the performance of a Core i3, i5 or i7 due to better/stronger cores and higher thread/core count.
Intel wouldn't sell you a £60 CPU that will out perform a £300 CPU ... its called business sense.

The Pentium is indeed a solid CPU, but! When we move closer to games which uses more than 2 cores, Both the i5 and i7 blows it out of the Water.
You're completely right, that the PER CORE performance is really equal, and when playing games that doesn't operate with more than 2 cores, you will most likely get the same result as with an i5 or i7
Now.. the Thing is, we're living in 2015 and almost ALL AAA games will use and operate with more than 2 cores, and by then your "beast gpu" will be bottlenecked.. This Means the i5 or i7 is more "future proof" than the Pentium.
Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Denmark..

sci.fi.man got a reaction from raj47i in Suggest a Motherboard for me
both of the mobo is great. check your local community for better advice on specific vendor (asrock, asus, gigabyte) for aftersales service like RMA or something.
since this pc will be on 24/7, i'd recommend you to choose good PSU and adequate cooling on your pc later

sci.fi.man got a reaction from Dabombinable in Is DDR4 really worth the upgrade?
For me personally i'd rather choose the capacity not the speed of RAM. DDR4 is needed only when some hardware needs them (X99 for example)

sci.fi.man got a reaction from newjanson in 4790k or 4770k? Which one should I choose and why?
go for 4790K, 4790K has better TIM and stability rather than 4770K. in case of motherboard, use Z97 one, whis is better compatibility with Haswell-R processor (4790K is Haswell-R processor) and can be upgrade able to broadwell cpu (5770K perhaps?)

metro 2033 has great story line. but imo, metro last light has even greater story line

sci.fi.man got a reaction from Ruostunut kokis in how long will 1080p live on?
maybe about price point and hardware. mainstream laptop hardware is not strong enough to gaming on higher resolution (but some gaming spec laptop does) IMHO
like your signature btw

sci.fi.man got a reaction from JuztBe in i5 4460, what mobo to go with?
unless you're not going to overclock your CPU soon (CPU upgrade) on this motherboard, any H81 and B85 is just fine. the difference between motherboard is basically just a feature like how many sata port, PCI-e slot availabe, what ethernet chip they use, etc.
just find that fits on your wallet and don't forget to compare it with another simirally price motherboard. review from person who use that motherboard is pretty useful too.

sci.fi.man got a reaction from ViktorL in Bottleneck?
if you get grey screen on oc-ing your graphics card, you set the clock too high. try slide up the clock by 5-10 MHz step, if everything is fine, then you can slide up more.
about your cpu, just OC it if your game is slowed down by your CPU (CPU bottleneck). be sure to check your temp if you do OC-ing (either GPU and CPU)

sci.fi.man got a reaction from Ryan Leech in msi vs asrock
agreed. MSI (imho) good at high-end board, but quite bad on low-end line. my friend have one, but the mobo dies on OC due to vrm failure
