Best bang for the buck GPU?

sci.fi.man
Go to solution Solved by don_svetlio,

the cheapest R9 380 4GB that i cand find is around USD 220 (HIS IceQ). yes, quite expensive in here  :D

yeah, played with my old 7870 still get around 30-ish fps, even overclocked to 1250MHz (hairworks disabled). thanks for the hug btw

i used some air conditioner here so i got around 20'c ish ambient temp. so heat output isn't a big deal for me now. And yes, without AC it's get around 32'C pretty easily  :D

I use a 750 Ti (860M) and while it IS enough for me - games like Witcher 3 it struggles with to keep above 30fps at anything other than low. I'd say a R9 380 is what you're best off with - or a 380X

So... since my Sapphire HD7870 died days ago, i manage to switch back to Intel HD4600 and do the research for my next GPU.

My options are 2 right now, Zotac 750Ti 2GB Non OC (IDR 1579000 ~USD 114) and Zotac 970 Non AMP or Core Edition (IDR 4527000 ~USD 327)

Since i have limited budget right now, do i just buy a 750Ti right now or save more money to 970 which has more than 2 times the performance of the 750Ti for another months?

i played with 1440x900 monitor and my CPU is 4690 non K (which is fine for both GPU's).

Any recommendations or maybe another best GPU other than these two? Thanks  :)

Buy a R9-390. It has even better performance than the 970 and at a lower cost.

Intel Core i7-6700K | Corsair H105 | Asus Z170I PRO GAMING | G.Skill TridentZ Series 16GB | 950 PRO 512GB M.2

theres not really a "bang for buck" gpu, its more so a "whats your budget? that one."

slightly better performance*

together with more heat and power usage.

380 4GB I guess? Right now they're 10-20 USD under 200. Maybe even 30 USD below.

i played with 1440x900 monitor

I feel your pain

750Ti will be little bit too week to play newest games(at leas Witcher 3) on ultra settings even on that resolution. I would save for R9 390/R9 380/x

as well as the 750ti not being a budget pick at all, the marginally more expensive 950 completely kicks its butt.

750ti is for people without a 6 pin connector.

yes. but for some people energy use/heat is an argument.

i live in a country where renting servers is 3 times more expensive than elsewhere at best. if i can save 50 watts its actually a difference at the end of the month.

I play at 1080p at high settings, thibk it is even at ultra without msaa bf4 with around 60fps so i would go for that.

What you can do if you buy a higher end gpu is to make it render the game at a higher resolution to get better picture quality like with msaa

well, indonesia is right on the equator. heat output may be a major factor for the guy.

not gonna say it is, or that he should care, but its a thing to consider.

during summer my area gets around 35°c (which is insanely hot for us, dont laugh xD) and having your pc not belch out heat is a serious consideration.

then again, during -10°c winters heat is an advantage xD

R9 380X isn't here yet. Maybe i'll wait for another week for the 380X reaches here. Is it any huge performance gap between 380 and 380X?

actually i have a plan to switch to higher 21:9 monitor (2560x1080) but maybe another time since i'm still enjoy using 900p monitor and 720p monitor for the secondary ones. but thanks for the tips  :)

Lets see the price of the 380X yet, if it's expensive here so i'll stick with 380 and OC it. thanks :)

R9 380 4GB will be just fine

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

How to setup MSI Afterburner OSD | How to make your AMD Radeon GPU more efficient with Radeon Chill | (Probably) Why LMG Merch shipping to the EU is expensive

Oneplus 6 (Early 2023 to present) | HP Envy 15" x360 R7 5700U (Mid 2021 to present) | Steam Deck (Late 2022 to present)

even my 5" phone have 1080p display on it lol  . I don't mind to play game on low res (at least for now). I tried play Fallout4 on my Intel HD4600 (720p on very very low settings), and i cry due 15 fps  :D

already on my list right now (HIS R9 380 4GB IceQ). is HIS any good other than another brand like ASUS or Sapphire?

Sapphire > MSI > XFX > Power Color > HIS

Asus and Gigabyte do not exist if you want a good product
