It depends on the product line, I vote MSI for overall top if you're buying into the high end of either.

ASRock is more reliable and makes better motherboards for the money. I haven't used their support much, but when I need assistance they're always there.

Historically, MSI has had the highest failure rates of any consumer motherboard manufacturer. Their support is decent and they do make some sexy high-end boards. Their lower-end boards are usually pretty terrible though.

Gigabyte. :D

But seriously, asrock have really stepped up their game lately (although I had many problems with them in the past), and MSI have some QC problems with z97 (damaged sockets and loose PCI slots). So... I'm gonna say asrock.

HARDWARE INTERRUPT MOTHAF#%A!
WINDOWS 10 = adware, driven by spyware

ok I found four motherboards one is asus, one is gigabyte, one is asrock, and one is msi so what is better  1. Asus Z97-A (pcpartpicker link http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-z97a ) 2. Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI (pcpartpicker link http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gaz97xsli ) 3. ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer (pcpartpicker link http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-fatal1tyz97killer ) 4. MSI Z97-G55 SLI (pcpartpicker link http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z97g55sli ) the asus is the most expensive but only about $10 and whats the difference between the asrock fatal1ty z97 killer and the asrock z97 killer here's the pcpartpicker link to it http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-z97killer i'm leanin towards the asrock one and the gigabyte one mainly because they are black and red

agreed. MSI (imho) good at high-end board, but quite bad on low-end line. my friend have one, but the mobo dies on OC due to vrm failure
