If you put a 1080TI in that machine, you won't be happy with 4K experience.

4K/60 at low/medium isn't near as fun to play a game as 1440p/60 High or 1080p/120 Ultra.

4K doesn't mean shit, but they are successfully brainwashing folks it seems.

I drank mostly tea today but will switch to mineral water now.
    Ate nice meals, thank you.
Talked about feeling with my friends.
Had chores outside, decided to go on foot and had moderate to high paced tempo.
Not sure if did something I love but did chat a little with my friends and it sure lifted my mood.

Also, your post reminded me of this 😛

Well it's distributed under "Hardcore TANO*C" logo :d good starting point if you like electronics with harder kicks. Some oldschool touhou remixes were done by DJs who now run and sell their track under TANO*C or even SONY and other major companies 🙂

Frankly I hope not. It would not be healthy for the competition and the customer. And I think some Intel solutions like SBC and enterprise (server) solution are and will be for a long time occupied by the blue team.

10 years ago i did have an i3 and AMD Radeon HD6700 and my powersupply was overkill for that build but i did buy it to use for my upgrades from time to time.
    i3 to i7
    RADEON 6700- GTX960 - GTX1070 - RTX 2080 Ti.

So i will buy a 1000W+ PSU from EVGA or SEASONIC for another 10 years. 😎

    Salvage.
Look for GPU used in mining, or just for a used ones. Yes, it will be a bit toasted but you can get a real boost in performance for a fraction of the price. Just check what goes best with your CPU.
Also new PSU - any power supply older then 5 years is just underperforming because of how capacitors are dying inside.
New thermal paste for the CPU. Sounds dumb but if you never changed it, you can expect some serious boost.
Retro/sleeper case. I've been trough some modern cases, and unless it's really pricy one, those "ugly" older units have great air flow if you slap big fans inside, and cool components perform better. Or just proper cable management, extra 7$ fan to suck hot air out.

Few years ago, I went for a "budget" no GPU setup with Ryzen 3 2200G, b450 A PRO mobo, patriot DDR4 RAM (not the best) and SSD. No dedicated GPU. Was able to play overwatch, Apex, Dota and so on at reasonable settings considering AGPU (integrated graphics). Later added used RX560.
Without GPU, my build would cost about 450CAD (just a quick check tho). And I think you could find something even cheaper. And yes, I'm a huge AMD fanboy switching from very old Intel CPU to Ryzen which did quit good on graphics for few months.

keik got a reaction from Coolday in What is the normal Ram temp ?
It should close to mosfed and cpu but that depends on configuration, ie: speed settings of RAM and how well your pc dissipate the heat will have great impact on the temperatures.
If you got something between 40-50*C it's hot but not something unusual, but again, all depends on your setup. Maximum? No idea, but if it would get to hot my guess is it would start to act up leading to the pc being unstable, printing BSOD or just shutting down.

Basically you are asking, if community driven operating system(s) and its curated software is safer then just installing binaries and executables from a faceless company. It is as safe as you let it be safe, it has nothign to do with any operating system.

Flatpacks are open source and snap are canonical (more like "company driven" releases).

Following this thread because got same problem as OP.

I've logged into EVE online yesterday, and boy, I want to like that game but it's against casual play, and it shows. Free state, where you get like 7-12% of the game content is enough to pwn some space pirates or probe anomalies, and mine-recycle some resources. With friends, it's really fun tittle.
Mentioned PSO2 may be good option, especially for 4 players. Played a lot PSO on DC and PSOBB on PC, grind but with cool areas and good for leisure/casual/talk at the times.
Black desert Online is a lot like Monster Hunter with hellish end game as people say, and there's free trial too for BDO.

Not MMORPG per se but... maybe Factorio? Stranded on a alien planet, player need to reinvent technolgies, to fly back home. You'd need to set a server or rent one to host game (those are cheap usualy). There is free demo and there are plenty fo great community mods changing base game as well.

keik got a reaction from CubisticWings4 in How long should I game while charging my laptop?
Well, common trick back in the day was to add basic computer fan (ie: usb powered fan) under the charger and a cpu hotsink on top of it, which never failed. Of course, best scenario is not doing heavy load computing whille charging batteries. Adding any heat spreading, like making sure charger is sitting on flat even surface far from any fabrics like drapes also helps.
Seriously, I doubt you'll destroy your charger, as those are designed to work for at least as long, as the warranty covers them, but changing some habits like making a break every now and then will help to both, preserve teh charger, and your own health

Many people just resell those for 10-25% of the original price and let other play with mentioned bios swapping, baking them and so on. I had few GPU's, didn't sell, so just scrapped them for copper, boards and gold pins :V

keik got a reaction from Results45 in WAN Show: Can you allocate 8GB of system RAM as VRAM for the integrated GPU?
I've gamed on ryzen's vega and for many games it's more then ok. You will not be able to run newest AAA games in full HD or beyond on max detail for obvious reasons, but if you plan to play games like League of Legends or Owerwatch and Apex, you might be pleasently surprised how well those games actually run. And learning you can dedicate 2GB instead of default 512MB was a real blessing.

And why there isn't option to dedicate more VRAM is, my guess, first of all: A/iGPU weren't that strong and popular few years ago. With newer generations of CPUs offereing better and better graphic solutions, this may change.
