How long should I game while charging my laptop?

So I was gaming for around a couple hours today, and I noticed my laptop stopped charging suddenly. I thought it was the outlet, but when I touched my charger it was INSANELY hot. I couldn’t touch it for longer than a second before it began to hurt.
I believe this isn’t good for the chargers health, so I was wondering if there’s any way to game for longer than 3 hours without wrecking my charger.

Thanks.

Well, common trick back in the day was to add basic computer fan (ie: usb powered fan) under the charger and a cpu hotsink on top of it, which never failed. Of course, best scenario is not doing heavy load computing whille charging batteries. Adding any heat spreading, like making sure charger is sitting on flat even surface far from any fabrics like drapes also helps.
Seriously, I doubt you'll destroy your charger, as those are designed to work for at least as long, as the warranty covers them, but changing some habits like making a break every now and then will help to both, preserve teh charger, and your own health :)
