You can use high end, high quality components on a double forward PSU, and you can use low end, cheap components on an LLC PSU. In both of those cases, the component quality is clearly separate from the topology of the PSU. An extreme case would be using very high end, very high quality diodes, connecting them to some cables, and plugging them straight from the wall to the PC. This "PSU" would obviously burn out and also kill the PC immediately. The component quality is very good, but it's not a good PSU.

The other points were about the performance, not the component quality. You can use high end components, but end up with a PSU that performs poorly. The same way Intel can use the same silicon quality to produce low end Pentium CPUs and high end i9 CPUs. Same quality, different performance. Maybe we interpret "component quality" as different things, but to me, it refers to the quality of the individual parts that are being used, not how they are used or assembled.

EVGA has about a billion different PSUs under the name Supernova, ranging from very low end, to pretty high end. The G2, P2, T2, G3, P3, G6, P6 and GT are decent to good, off the top of my head, but always check professional reviews of the specific model and wattage you're looking at. The noise level is also something to pay special attention to, imo, especially for higher wattage PSUs and systems.
The Seasonic Prime has/has had some issues with higher end GPUs, lies about the temperature rating, and cuts corners on the fan, fan control and cables. I have a fairly quiet system, and the loudest part is a ticking noise from the fan motor.
Be Quiet's Pure Power 11 FM (not the semi or non-modular versions), and Straight Power 11 should be comparable to the G2, G3, G6, GT etc, and the Dark Power Pro 12 is above the T2. For Corsair, the TXM, RM, RMe and RMx should be comparable to those, the RMi, HX, HXi are a bit above those, and the AXi is comparable to the Dark Power Pro 12.
Yes. They typically handle transients better, and are less likely to have coil whine when paired with higher end GPUs.

The Prime is known for having issues with higher end GPUs and has other factors that make it unsuitable for higher power GPUs. A good 850W should be fine, assuming you don't have a high power HEDT CPU? The pricing and availability of different PSUs varies depending on where you're buying from, and so will any recommendations. Do you have links to webshops we can look at?

Isn't the P+ ACRF based? So despite the 80+ Platinum rating, it's just an entry level PSU that's going to have coil whine with higher end GPUs.
There aren't many reviews of that unit, but the one review I did see did mention that it uses an LLC resonant converter, so should be fine, and less likely to have coil whine than entry level PSUs like the P+. The G2 1300W is also available for the same price, although it's sold by Newegg. Either should be fine, but don't expect them to be quiet.

I brought it up to illustrate why they can't increase the bitrate from what they use for the satellite SOS (likely in the hundreds of bps in ideal conditions) to what people expect from mobile data (thousands of times faster). The channel bandwidth is limited, satellites can't move much closer, antenna gain is limited by how accurately people can point their phone and the size of the phone, and they can't reduce the noise easily. If they wanted to increase the bitrate, they would need to increase the transmission power beyond reasonable levels, which is not something they are going to do.
No one needs to do anything to sound smart when your presence makes everyone around you seem like a genius.

They are all low end, high wattage PSUs. You'd be better off with a lower wattage, higher end PSU, which would likely be cheaper, quieter, and perform better, unless your goal is GPU mining.

You should get a new PSU either way, as the G5 is an entry level PSU (despite the 80+ Gold rating, it's no better than other entry level PSUs). At best, expect it to be loud and to produce coil whine.

Instead of locking in which PSU to get before the GPU is even released, i suggest you wait, find out what the actual requirements are, and only then look at all the options and decide what to get.

It's a very low end PSU with wattage that you don't need. A decent 400-450W PSU would likely be a better choice. Cooler Master MWE V2, Corsair CX450/CX450M, Be Quiet Pure Power 10/11 etc.

It's a low end PSU, so doesn't make sense to have a 1600W version of it, unless you don't care about your hardware and don't care about noise at all. It would make sense for mining, but for normal systems, you would be better off with a higher end, lower wattage PSU.

There should be new cables available that plug directly into current PSUs, without having to use an adapter, and decent PSUs should most likely be fine.
The four small pins on the 12+4 pin are just shorted to ground to indicate that the PSU can deliver more than the base 150W. They are not transmitting data other than that. If you are referring to data ports going from the PSU to the motherboard for software control, those exist for current PSUs, and are not required for ATX 3.0 PSUs.

Also be aware that a PSU claiming ATX 3.0 compatibility does not mean that it's actually fully compliant, especially when it's from a more sketchy company, like Seasonic or Gigabyte.
The highest end Seasonic Prime TX-1600 is only compliant up to 1000W, and is only rated for 1280W output at 50C.

Gigabyte's UD-GM ships with the new 12+4 pin connector, but fails shuts down when loaded to the ATX 3.0 requirements.

Eschew reacted to Spotty in +12V rail selection switch on Corsair HX1000 Platinum 1000W PSU - which to use?
    No.
With those power supplies Multiple rail mode just means that there is OCP (Over Current Protection) for each of the cables from the power supply. It's set to 40A, which is 480W at 12V, which is pretty unlikely to draw from a single cable under normal conditions. It's like a breaker for your PSU, like in your house if you have too much stuff plugged in to one outlet like a microwave and a toaster running at the same time or an electric heater and a TV plugged in to the same outlet. Setting to single rail mode just disables that 40A limit and lets it deliver as much power as the PSU can over any cable.

I would leave it in multi rail mode and if you have issues with the PC shutting down under load, switch it to single rail mode. Unless you're doing extreme overclocking like LN2 CPU cooling hitting 6GHz it's very unlikely you would ever draw enough power to trip the 40A limit.

No. The only difference is that the PSU will shut down if e.g. an SSD tries to pull 800W through the 12V rail, if it's set to multi rail, while single rail mode would happily let that happen. Leave it in multi rail mode, that's how they should ship out anyway.
