Yeah, I wouldnt think that would be a issue, but maybe going up to 3000 Series might bottleneck it

Hi all, I'm a bit of a data nerd and on my PC I tend to use PowerBI and Excel a fair amount.
 
PowerBI is a fairly large program, and takes a (while to open (at work, it's around 15 seconds, on my own computer about 4s). (At home) I have PowerBI and Excel installed on my Samsung 970 Evo NVME and the saved files stored on a mechanical HDD.
 
My question is, am I leaving performance on the table? my theory is that the big large program sits on the NVME, and the small saved file (normally about 30kb - 200kb).
 
I suppose I could keep them on the NVME too, but I like tokeep my "clutter" in one place, and that's on the HDD
 
both drives are 1TB, the NVME is as stated above, the HDD is a WD green label 7200 thing.
 
Just really interested in your thoughts?

Most common configs used are
1x 120mm rear
1x 120mm or 140mm top rear
2x or 3x 120mm or 2x 140mm front.
 
Only when water cooling is being used is both top fan placements being used.
 
What is your budget for fans be? 
 
Arctic p12 are great, and cheap, but no rgb. There is no good rgb or the cheap. But you could always use a rgb strip for the lighting.  Of course I only saying this as lowest best budget option.

So ive had a couple of PCs before (maybe 20+years ago) just been using laptops ever since. This is the 1st pc I've ever built and it was a bit of a hobby of mine during lockdown to hunt for good prices and build it slowly. Bought most things new at regular price (unless stated) 
 
I'm on a fairly strict budget and my aim is to play games at 1080p 60hz as well as practicing some powerbi/ office and films music etc and wanting a fairly quick system.
 
Specs are:
- R5 3600 (figured best price vs performance bought used but unopened for £150)
- Wraith prism cooler (bought used for £20, was only used for 1 week)
- B450 steel Legend motherboard
1050ti (had leftover from a prebuilt)
2x8gb (16gb in total) DRR4 3000Mhz (gammix d10 and I have 2 empty slots still, bought one of them new, the other used for £20 and the sticks match)
- Evo970 NVME 1tb (smashed out a bit on that admittedly but used unopened £140)
- 1TB HDD (just cheap storage)
- Fracral meshify case (bought used for £45)
- Corsair 550w PSU 
 May I ask your thoughts? It seems to do what I want it to. I'll upgeade the GPU one day, but currently it plays everything I ask it to at 60hz 1080p at max settings except resident evil where I'm at mid to max settings.

Appears fairly straight forwards. Tho i cant share any experience with alternatives. As i dont have any.

I've recently had the same decision. Whether to go for the 3300x or 3600.
From what I've seen/read and heard. I made the decision to go for the 3600. There was only like £20-£30 quid difference, and the longevity of the 3600 will be larger than the 3300× as more applications are making use of the extra cores. One YouTube reviewer said "the 3600 should be the cpu that in 6 years time, you'll look back and be glad you bought that one" I forget his name. The Canadian guy with long dark curly hair.

Hi all, does anyone else think that the AMD Ryzen chips look better than the Intel ones.
 
I mean, it's massively irrelevant, but I think they just look cooler and more modern, I wonder if their flatter surface and wider footrpint helps better with cooling?
 
But yeah, I think they look 100% better!!

Neither Intel nor AMD have RGB CPUs. Garbage.
