Max GPU for my PSU?

Bassai Dai

Hi all. I have a question please

I have the following PC:

  • Ryzen 5 3600 (Wraith Prism cooler)
  • B450 Steel Legend board
  • 16gb RAM (2 x 8gb)
  • 1TB Samsung 970 NVME
  • 1TB HDD
  • GTX 1050ti
  • Corsair VS550w PSU
  • 144hz 1440p monitor

I dont really do any overclocking, aside from using MSI afterburner and having XMP enabled.

.

I'm looking to upgrade the GPU to something a bit more substantial for 144hz 1440p gaming but I'm trying to avoid changing the PSU (I've not had it that long).

May I ask whats the highest I could go on the GPU without having the Fire Brigade on standby?

Thanks all :)

Thanks, although that's a little less headroom than i'd be comfortable with.

Nice to know that I could perhaps go up to the 2060/3070 though

No problem.

I'm thinking my R5 3600 will keep up with a 2060 no issues

Yeah, I wouldnt think that would be a issue, but maybe going up to 3000 Series might bottleneck it
