You need to quote a post or tag a member or else they won't get a notification you replied to them. -
andre82693 reacted to WoodenMarker in Pc noob question
The bios doesn't have to be updated.
Where on the website did you read that?
-
andre82693 reacted to Enderman in Little Question!
it needs to be plugged into both
it takes power from the SATA connector and uses the CPU fan header to PWM control the pump
you cannot run the pump without the SATA power connected
and you cannot control the pump speed without the CPU fan header

Exactly.
For example, I'm running F@H on my Mac by choice. I'm currently howevering at 96 degrees on all cores. But THATS BY MY OWN CHOICE.
Another company deciding how MY hardware spends its downtime? Screw that.

Can't go wrong with MSI, purchased my motherboard a couple of weeks ago. Those three are very similar though so it really comes down to personal preference.

andre82693 reacted to zappian in Saving for my dream
Sure , i dont particularly like Asrock motherboards but if you prefer the msi z97 is the best out of those two.

Pretty much any case. It just requires a few screws to be taken out.

Yea, its close to being last-gen. However the specs are still good, not to mention its a good phone in general.

andre82693 reacted to BananaNinja in What are the characteristics of low ram?
When RAM is filled up, the computer will then start reading and writing from the primary hard disk, this is to prevent total system crash, the problem is that hard disks are a lot slower than DRAM and hence everything in the process of the application will slow down.
So let's say it is faster to put pencils into a pencil case than a pencil holder, but if the pencil case is full, then you would have to spend more time putting individual pencils into a pencil holder, same thing for RAM, once it is full, it uses the hard disk where read and writes are slower causing the process to be slower resulting in Low FPS, Low responsiveness, lag and such.

I wouldn't stretch to that motherboard just for M.2 and SATA Express unless I was certain I was going to use it. There are already inexpensive PCI-e expansion cards for M.2 and there will definitely be PCI-e expansion cards for SATA Express when it's more widely used.

andre82693 reacted to Dabasepc in Which one shall satisfy my needs?
2 970 is enough for 1440p. Not worth spending extra $500 for 2 980. the 980 card is only +/- 20% better than the 970.. At this price 3 970 would outperform 2 980. don't get classified. not worth it, you pay extra for another bios and LN2 option (Liquid Nitrogen) which is useless.

You can compare all the features yourself here:
http://asrock.com/mb/compare.asp?SelectedModel=Z97+Extreme4&SelectedModel=Z97+Extreme3
The Extreme 4 has support for 3 way Crossfire, a 12 phase power design and Purity Sound 2. If you don't need these features then I wouldn't say the extra cost is justified.
