Little Question!

Hey Guys,

I'm almost done my new build and will buy it soon. I ended up choosing the Cooler Master Nepton 240M over the Corsair one and I was wondering is it better to plug the pump in a fan header or directly in the PSU to get always 12v? You guys can always suggest me better Water cooler or Corsair maybe i can change my mind but i heard good things on that Nepton. My CPU will be a Intel I7 4790k.

Thanks!

Pretty sure plugging it into the CPU fan header is how most people do it.

That's not supposed to do that....

Yep. CPU fan header is the way to go. I don't even know if you can plug it into the PSU. I put mine on the CPU header so that you can control speeds and voltages and whatnot.

it needs to be plugged into both

it takes power from the SATA connector and uses the CPU fan header to PWM control the pump

you cannot run the pump without the SATA power connected

and you cannot control the pump speed without the CPU fan header

plug the pump in a fan header

The pump on the Cooler Master Nepton 240M is only a 3-4 pin connector how can you plug it in the sata connector and the CPU Fan Header? I guess the fan of the radiator you plug them in a normal fan header?
