Here are some unorthodox things you can try:
Change the PCIe mode in the BIOS for the graphics card from 4.0 to 3.0
Change the graphics card to a different slot
Try an underclock and an overclock to see if the crashing behavior changes at all

Re-size BAR is enabled by default on AM5, at least from the three different boards/CPUs I've dealt with personally so far.

Basically a 7800x3D doesn't go over 5.05GHz because its multiplier locked at a max 50.5x and 100MHz base. HWmonitor isn't accurate in measuring Zen4 for some reason, where I had to swap to HWinfo to get accurate measurements.

Not sure how accurate the other measurements were, but if the boost clocks were any indication, they're measurements that I wouldn't trust overall from hwmonitor with Zen4.

I'd remove the GPU and start eliminating components overall to see if you can get it to POST with minimum hardware, being the PSU, motherboard, CPU, single stick of RAM.

Also went extreme on cooling for 3700U, turned out to be 3.5 hrs too late. Won't complete WU on time.

So here we are, five years later. The first thing to note is the change to previous folding events. Moving forward Folding Months will be numbered. With this event being Folding Month 5.

If you would have told me, back five years ago when I offered to write commentary for the first folding month that I would be here today, five years later, running multiple folding events per year, leading the team. Taking us from outside the top ten right into the top few teams in the world. I would have never believed you. If only I would have known quite how much I would go through over those five years. The coming and going of friendships, relationships, the passing of family members and the arrival of new ones. In many ways folding has been the one constant in my life. You guys, some who come back year after year and some who like to jump in once to never be seen again. You all are what make it worth it. To see our little community band together, compete for the top spot while at the same time working as a team will never stop bringing a smile to my face. So, I will finish this little preamble with a message, a message of thanks to every single one of you. Thank you for all of your effort, thank you for all of your teamwork, and finally thank you for all of your support. And remember, this is the first chance to grab yourself a gold badge for the few five year veterans on the team!

Folding@home is a network of volunteer computers distributed around the world that aims to perform biomedical research with the single intent of helping to further understand and develop cures for a range of diseases such as; Alzheimer's, cancer, and Parkinson's. The exact research that is done is simulating the 'folding' of proteins in the body, this is important because the function of a protein is directly related to its physical shape. And this, when the protein is created in the body it needs to reshuffle its shape to get into the correct structure to perform its task. Many illnesses can be linked to faulty proteins in the body such as many cancers and neurological issues, along with a wide number of other general health concerns. 192.5 petaFLOPS at the time of writing is the speed currently estimated for the network. While the current fastest SuperComputer in the world is HPEs Frontier, clocking in at 1.1-1.7 exaFLOPS.

If you are wondering what exactly has been done with all this computing power then you can check out the papers written by the scientists and researchers that use the folding network, I will warn you though many of them are very in depth reads and in turn this means they are often fairly technical.

To qualify for badges you must meet the minimum requirements for participation which for this event will be as follows minimum requirements: 500k points, 40WUs, and 20 days of activity over the course of the whole month. This is subject to change for future events as we find out what the sweet spot is to include as many people as possible but not make it too easy to just get a free badge.

    PASSKEYS! (they're really important)

Don't forget to get yourself a passkey from the link below to ensure that you hit the points requirement, the passkey is a feature that was added a while ago to the Folding Client that helps to authenticate each user on the network, an added bonus of this is the fact that it allows you to qualify for QRB(Quick Return Bonus) Points, QRBs are extra points you earn for submitting work units more quickly, such as if you have faster hardware or let the client fold full time, rather than on idle. QRB credit is awarded after 10 WUs have been submitted. You can get your passkey from the link below.
    https://apps.foldingathome.org/getpasskey

This is just a PSA for the new guys here, the folding team is a small close knit community, so here's a few things I'd like you all to keep in mind. It doesn't hurt to say thank you, if someone has genuinely helped you out don't forget to drop a reaction on their posts, help others where ever you can and finally we are a team first and always.

Check your stats out here! Bare in mind it can take some time for your first WUs to appear so leave it a day or two.

Arrogath got a reaction from PDifolco in 5900X idle temps mystery (from 25C to 35C) ?
I would imaging what your using to poll for the temperature could matter, Zen 2 tended to “wake” on temperature poll and would be in a warmer than rest state thanks to high boost clocks/voltage at low load. There’s also the matter of different OS versions, OS updates, background programs, quality of thermal paste application, flatness of your specific cooler and cpu, motherboard choice and bios version, ram/infinity fabric settings, case choice, fan choice and tuning, case placement in the room…

needless to say there are a lot of factors not including silicon quality that can quickly add up to an extra few degrees or more

You presumably have a cooler in your system now, right? Even just setting it on top of the CPU without mounting hardware would be better than nothing at all.

Okay, so now it's starting to make sense. Acquaintance didn't say YOU wouldn't be responsible for shipping and duties, they said THEY wouldn't be responsible, then asked for a finder's fee, more or less. Dick move, maybe, but in light of all this, if it's that big of a deal to you, just go with it, and drop them like a bad habit after the card is received.

You get what you want without the guesswork, and for $100, you've discovered what your friendship is worth to him. That's a lot cheaper than a lot of life lessons. I've had people flat-out screw me for far more money with no benefit at all to me. Food for thought. Would I handle this that way? Maybe, maybe not. He didn't have to ask for the $100, but he didn't have to offer his spot in the queue either. But at least you're getting SOMETHING out of the deal.

I've had a couple of transactions come out unexpectedly, which just hit the funds for my electric bill. As of now, I've no choice, but to stop folding for the continuation of this event.

It's been a good while, blowing dust off my system. It's also good to know that it can still pack a punch. I should still qualify for a badge, right?

It's been a good one. Until next year!
